Project 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ - Multifunction Switch Wiring Harness Connector Replacement

The melted and brittle multifunction switch harness plug... it's a pretty common issue of the mid-2000s Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge vehicles... There is lots of speculation on why this happens, but many agree its because they decided to run way too many amps into a single switch. The switch connector gets very hot, and melts on the Batt+ side (as mine did) and the overall connector becomes very fragile. Replacement is the best solution.

If you need just a connector, maybe you can find it by itself... but I couldn't.

I made this video because I couldn't find the info anywhere else. Once I figured it out, I knew I had to share it so someone else could learn how to do this.

Having to replace these multi-function switch connectors is a pretty common problem. This was in my 2004 Jeep Wrangler, but this same connector fits the following vehicles:
