  2. I just bought this same bumper and winch setup from Extreme Terrain. Appreciate the videos, man! You saved me some time! My fog light harness just barely fit. It has a little bit of tension on it. Will check it after a few days and relieve some more wire, if necessary.

  3. Great Video man, wife just got me a 2016 and you have made my decision to get the Barricade over the AEV very easy. Very affordable and easy to do on our own. Thank you so much!!!

  5. thanks, not a lot of videos showing where to run the cables through and around to connect to the battery, as well as not to use those middle ones. Was really helpful!

  6. Excellent! Very helpful video. I am in the middle of the project for both the Barricade Trail Force HD Bumper and Barricade Winch. The details you provide are very useful. The only change I made was to extend the Fog lights cable to put less stress on reach. I especially like the fact you name your wrenches as you go.

  7. Awesome! Will be purchasing that same bumper next week. Did you have to do any mods for the bumper install or was it bolt on? Thanks again for the great video!

  13. The winch recommend 650 cca. Wrangler stock battery is 600 cca. Is this gonna be an issue?

  15. Thanks for making this video. Would this set up be appropriate on a 4 door? Can a single person winch themselves out or do you need 2 people?

  24. Are you still pleased with the winch? I'm looking at buying this winch and want an honest feedback.

  25. What are he bumper bolt arrangements? I purchased the HD bumper but haven decided on a winch yet..... Can most any winch fit on the Barricade bumper? Are they mainly standard to mount on most bumpers?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Very articulate. No rambling. Just the info you need. I watched the trailforce front bumper and winch video to prepare for my installs. Gotta go get some plastic conduit, that's a great idea. Very clean installs.

  27. WHATS THE TIRE SIZE YOU RUNNING ON YOUR JEEP 305/70r17s?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm looking at adding this exact setup. Did you have to move the vacuum pump? I've heard different stories. I don't want to wait til I have the Jeep apart to realize I now have to order a vacuum relocation kit.

  30. hey. i live in north delaware. was looking at joining a jeep club. i am assuming that you are from around here from the Chesapeake jeep club. let me know whenever you get a chance. thanks

  31. For UV protection I recommend wrapping the end of the the rope that sticks out the front with tape, i used Gaffer Tape that I found on amazon which has held up really well.

For now I am also using a cover but i plan to cut some sheet metal to cover up just the spool. I wish they made some kind of plastic cover that you could just snap on.

  32. If a person trying to steal your winch was smart enough they would just pull the whole bumper since it's so easy to take off

    ReplyDelete
  33. Question: Why didn't you wrap your negative lead with extra protection? Does it not have as much power running through it, or?

    ReplyDelete
  34. for the cover did you contact extreme terrain or barricade? I know extreme terrain sells it separately

    ReplyDelete
  35. Nice clean install, random question! What watch is that?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Great video man. I'm a new Jeep owner and this helped me out A LOT! Thanks again!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Installed! Thanks for the video.

  38. I see you upgraded from the BMW. great vids as always!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Great video..... one question ,can't you just run the ground cable straight to the bumper or frame to avoid extra wires on battery, since it should be a good ground through chassis?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Great video you do some helpful stuff the jeep fun never ends thanks

    ReplyDelete
  41. Great video man. Extreme Terrain should pay you for all your tutorials.

    ReplyDelete
  42. How did you mount your license plate? I saw on another video you had it on but it looks like it would cut the opening for the cable in half

    ReplyDelete
  43. Followed your direction on mounting with winch and it came out great, thanks for the info.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Don't anyone believe in using locktight? And a dab of dielectric grease on the terminals. .

    ReplyDelete
  45. Love your videos. Did you ever consider smittybilt 97495. Same price but more hp uses cable tho. Also what did u pay for ur winch. I really want rope vs cable. Appreciate any response.

  47. This is one of the best instructional video for setting up bumper and winch combo from the makers of Extreme Terrain. Thanks for sharing brother, my last JKU I had the winch setup the hard way. Now I've picked up my new 2017 JKU and will surely follow your steps.

  48. Love your videos. Isn't it smart to rewire the winch whit some load after installing. What do you think? that you spol out all the rope/wire and have your car in a small slope in natural gear. And then use your car as load to wire in /preloaded the rope/wire. Hope you understand what I ment. love your channel watch your videos a few times now

  49. Heard their bumpers suck and rust after a year

    ReplyDelete
  50. Awesome video

    ReplyDelete
  51. If you opted out of having a rock guard, can you tell me why? I don't see the sleeve on your installed winch. I find it very helpful. Just curious why you don't use one.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I enjoy the way you installation of your winch on the bumper. I have the same bumper as you. Did you use wire loom on both cables? If you did use wire loom, you only tape at both ends, not the hold cable. But that is my choice. I did install inline a 30amp fuse holder on the positive side cable. When you install the fuse holder, solder it. Do not crimp inline, you will less chance of failure.
