Just a quick video showing my BUDGET portable 12V air compressor purchase. This is made by Q-Industries, and is the same as the MV-50 Superflow or Smittybilt. Rumored to be made by the same people who make the Viair 400P, but Viair has stated this is not true. I don't have a Viair, so I can't confirm one way or the other. It comes with a Type-M fitting to fit the standard air hose connectors....which is really nice!
Here is a great comparison:

so have u inflated your tires with it yet? I have 35's and just wondering if would be good for 35s
ReplyDeleteLooked like on one of you post in the jeep forums you hinted at a new product to go with this that you were testing. Are you able to share any details?
ReplyDeleteSo how is this compressor working for you??!
ReplyDeleteI've got three of these sitting in my garage. One has a hole in a valve, one has an electrical problem, and the other has a cracked cylinder head at the hose connection. I replaced them all with the $145.00 Smittybuilt that pumps 5.6 CFM. So far good after one year. It does get hot while pumping my tires 12psi to 40psi. About 5 minutes per tire.
ReplyDeleteI bought this and foolishly threw it in my truck without trying it out first. Fast forward to me 6 hours from home, middle of national forest, needing to air up my 33's to 60/65 psi to trailer my toyhauler back after a weekend of camping. It got halfway through my second tire before blowing the 30amp fuse. Luckily it came with a spare fuse, which promptly burned out after letting cool down and airing up the rest of the second tire. I didn't have anymore fuses and had to air up at a gas station when I got to the nearest town. I got home and promptly threw this thing in the trash. Waste of money for my purpose.
ReplyDeletedid you end up installing this under hood?
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm going to pick one of these up. Curious if you have a 1 year + update on how it has been working.
ReplyDeletemax psi 125. draws ~30amp.
