  2. Do you have a link for the guy that makes the custom mounts? I have a Poison Spyder tire carrier and I do not care for their over the tire hi-lift jack mount. I would love to get a mount for my Hi-Lift made similar to you land anchor mount.

  3. Great demo. A question though; You mentioned you highly recommend closed-system winching.. I'm *very* new to jeeping but had been told that the fewer pieces involved in winching the better.. So is closed-system better just because the line/strap/anchor is less likely to slip off a hook or is there more to it than that?

  4. Clear example of why JK's are better than JKU's. You're too heavy fella. :-)

  10. What kinds of materials other than the snow is the land anchor good for? Thanks.

  11. That definitely seems like the tool to have as part of your retrieval/recovery arsenal if your winch equipped and offroading alone a real a$$ saver. Worth every penny prob payed itself off rt there.

  12. Looks like you could have probably drove around that.

  13. catch your breath. you sound like you're going to die

  14. That would be fun to deploy and recover in mud!

  15. what tire chains are you using?

  16. you need spring loaded lockers on the front and rear on that beast

  17. Looks like at least in the front you have a LSD, lockers would be better. Though you might still have needed the winch. Good video!

  18. Great video; I enjoy seeing how you've set things up. Can you tell me where you found the "University Jeep" decal? I can't find it anywhere! Thx, LeeV

  21. Was that just a drift or was it the remains of an avalanche. Where were you guys wheeling on this day?

  22. Looks like your using synthetic line on that winch? I know there are pros and cons of each and I'm currently reviewing both before I get my first winch! Hopefully I make the right choice! LOL That Pull Pal anchor looks like an EXTREMEly handy tool to have with you at all times!

  23. he was getting absolutely no momentum before hitting the snow;  And the speed those tires were spinning at, I'm not so sure he was in 4 low, or he needed to finesse the pedal a bit more.  Good demo though

  25. We have those at my work, but we call them dead mans, because if it lets loose you're dead man.

  26. Just buy a 20lbs marine wedge anchor with 2 feet of chain and its the same thing for 50$

    ReplyDelete
  27. You realize, of course, that a standard 12" boat-anchor would have done exactly the same thing without any of the contorted dembarkment, assembly and crazy deployment of your "land anchor"?

Just pull the boat-anchor out of the toolbox, throw it out in front of the vehicle, hook your winch-cable to the anchor and start winching.

How much did you pay for that piece of douche-bait? Bet it was many times more than a boat-anchor......................

  28. BS you didn't let the pull pile do all the work

  43. Good thing you got those chains on so you dig in deeper rather than just airing down to about 5 psi, and floating on top.
