In this video we continue working through the install of this alarm and remote start. What should be the hard part of an alarm install is really SUPER EASY thanks to the new Omega T-Harness. Literally plug and play for 95% of this install! We do that, and also tap into the brake switch in this video.

Here's the playlist containing all of the videos for this install:

PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT INFO!

So you want to install an alarm system and remote start into your Jeep Wrangler? Well… this is the page for you! What follows below is the complete video series regarding the selection, overview, installation, setup, and howtos of the Omega Excalibur AL-1775-3DB security system and remote start I installed in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler with automatic transmission. If you happen to have the same vehicle (including similar years) then this page should be a step-by-step guide for you. If you have a manual transmission, there will be some additional steps and wiring for you, and what exactly depends on what year your Jeep is. I tried to mention some of those things throughout the video series. If you have a 2017 or newer, also note that the access to the ignition switch harness is a little different. I’ll also try and help you out there.

Please watch all of the videos BEFORE YOU START your own installation. This is important because I may point out things in later videos that would be helpful to know about early on. It’s just part of the process. Once I get into the install, I know more about what exactly needs to be done, versus what I believe needs to be done. A great example of this is the wiring for the parking lights. In the wiring prep video, I told you that you needed three wires for this because that was the industry standard based on how the Jeeps were wired. However, in actual testing during the install (and working closely with the tech guys at Omega Research and Development) I found that only one wire was really needed. So I modified the harness from the original 9 wires, down to 7!! BONUS!!!

In this video we go inside the Jeep, and I give you a quick tour of what I am going to be tapping into under the dash. I also give you some wiring updates and show you how I join and extend wires, and also how I am splicing into the wires that are in existing wire harnesses in the Jeep. I am using a military splice or military tap. It's a very strong solderless connection that works well for these sorts of installs.

Now we're getting into the good stuff! Let's pop the hood and start bolting things on! In this video I continue the Omega Excalibur AL-1775-3DB Alarm and Remote Start installation in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler (Automatic Transmission). Now we get to go to the vehicle and start the actual installation process.

Set aside several hours for this install if it's your first time, and make sure you watch ALL of the videos first before starting. There are some times I do something one way, and then change it up as I get further along and realize I need to go a different direction. It's just the nature of the beast! But this is a real install... not a marketing video, so you get to see those things and how I handle them!

This was much easier than I expected!

I Parked my Jeep on a DEWALT Cooler!

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuyeftQ-qSw&w=640&h=360]

DEWALT's new line of coolers are guaranteed tough. But, can they handle the weight of my bloated pig of a Jeep Wrangler - OVERCLOCK3D? I had to try. This is the small lunch sized cooler. Came out pretty much unscathed. Thankfully. I like this cooler.

DEWALT did not ask me to do this, nor do they know that I did it. (They may know now, however, lol!) They did send me this cooler at no cost to me, but they had no idea what I might do with it. Good thing for all of us that it really is as tough as I hoped it would be. I'm pretty sure DEWALT won't be sending me any more presents, though... lol. Sorry! I had to try this!

In this video, I go over the pre-installation preparation before installing the Omega Excalibur AL-1775-3DB Security Alarm and Remote Start. I show you which wires you need, and which ones you don't if you are installing a similar system into a later model Jeep Wrangler. Mine is a 2015.

Additionally, I show you where all of the components connect to the brain, how to install the Blade, 18-Pin Harness, vehicle specific t-harness, backup battery, motion proximity sensor, shock sensor, siren, hood pin and "mercury" switch (tilt sensor).
