I did a trip that was a lot like your's except it was a hunting trip with my father.. we drove from virginia to the the south western portion of colorado and then into the white river mountain range. we stayed gone a entire month! we 4 wheeled are butts off in the mountains and this was during the last part of October. so we had heavy snow fall nearly the whole time. we where Rocking tire chains out there and they worked pretty well for the woody snowy areas. not for the rocky terrain ,we didnt even try them there. i think it would have tore up everything. I love Colorado and one day I want to do it agian. this time with my kids!
Don't tease!
