In this video I take you on a "snow day" drive... which actually turns out to have been not too bad of a mess. I talk a little about snow and ice driving, then dig into a question from a subscriber about my headlights with halos, and talk a bit about lighting in general. Next, its some random drive time and Jeep spotting!
Oh... here's the lights I have: http://amzn.to/2CG5hZ1
I know you can get them in different colors from different manufacturers.. You probably won't find them with orange main halos tho... I had those custom made. But... white, red, blue, green, etc.. and they have orange blinking halos (which you could wire as the main halo if you wanted).

your halos do that bc of the leds they are. cheap leds can end up doing that
ReplyDeleteif the snow is not on the hood, not a snow day...
ReplyDeleteTalez From the DashCam how do you explain my hood at 0:13?
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say that I really enjoy your videos, I think I’ve watch every one that you have made. But I do have a question for you what’s the exhaust system are you running? From the videos it sounds pretty aggressive. Thanks
ReplyDeleteIt's a Pypes High Clearance.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks!
ReplyDeleteCPO, have you tried an RF choke on the 12v power lead for the cb?... I am under the impression that LEDs have color because of the frequency they operate at.. The Amber color could be the mirror freq of the CB band (27mhz) so you would need an RF power choke for 27mhz.... Then again, I might be full of it too...
ReplyDeleteHmmm.. actually no. I have not tried it on the CB power lead! Thank you, I will try that when I can.
ReplyDeleteThe choke has to be as close to the radio as possible
ReplyDeleteRadio Shack used to have an RF frequency counter that used an antenna you can hold it around your lights just see if there's any frequency being given off before you go and do the RF choke thing on the 12 volt power
ReplyDeleteI've still got chokes laying around... and easy access to the CB... The only question is whether I have enough easy slack to wrap the wire around the choke.
ReplyDeleteinteresting... There used to be Radio Shacks... lol
ReplyDeleteAmazon!
ReplyDeleteCan you do a review of your roll bar pads? Those things are badass man
ReplyDeleteI hate winter driving so I'd love to know how the jeep handles in the winter vs a 3.5 l v6 front wheel drive vehicle
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on the headlights.
ReplyDeleteI mis-spoke (or mis-typed) I meant OVER the hood. DUH. Had one big snowfall where the drifts plowed over the hood. Man, that was fun.
ReplyDeleteGreat video as usual, but I do have one negative comment. I'm a bit shocked that you got into your Jeep without cleaning the snow off of it. Honestly, that's the kind of thing that causes accidents, my friend. I've actually witnessed it a couple of times. Like I said, great video as usual, but big pet peeve of mine is not cleaning snow off of vehicles before cleaning them. Years in the Army taught me a lot about safety. Just my .02 cents. Still a subscriber. ;)
ReplyDeleteTim Robinson my wife was in the army and is the same way with cleaning the snow off of vehicles.
