ReplyDeleteI can't decide if I want to use a skid, or just relocate the evap out of the way. As simple as this install is I'm leaning towards the skid.
ReplyDeleteI think a relocation kit would work better...
ReplyDeleteLooks sharp!!
ReplyDeleteNice job and awesome looking plate. If I were you and went through the trouble to paint the skid plate, I would have replaced my rusty bolts for new ones. I started to change out all the bolts last year. Not all ot once but every time I have to do someting that involves bolts, I never put the old ones back but order on forehand new RVS bolts. When you do it this way it's not a big dent in your budget and in time every bolt will be replaced. I did so on the diff covers, oil pan, skid plates, transfer case, body mounts etc. At 08.30 I see the rubber hose exiting the skid plate, did you make sure it didn't rub against the metal (or could in time)? Looking forward to your video's. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOne and half years to put on, yep sounds just about right!!! w.w.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the easier skids to install, some of the others require you to disconnect the evap lines.

ReplyDeleteI run this same skid by RockHard 4x4. Beefy product, easy install and great protection.I know others who have good luck with relocating the evap skid, but I also know of some who have had plenty of error codes from the relocation as well.

ReplyDeleteI had my evap canister ripped off before. Was dragging that thing along the trail wondering, "what the hell is that?"
ReplyDeleteThankfully its a cheap replacement, but this looks like a perfect solution. Thanks brotha
Thank you for your videos. I feel like you are the nice man who lives next door (i dont have a real life next door man to help. Lol) that does upgrades and talks me through how to do it to my jeep too.
ReplyDeletehow much heat does the stock part deflect. I see you have heat shielding on your axle. Will this be required on the evap with the rock hard having a more open design on the exhaust side?

ReplyDeleteGood quality product
ReplyDeleteAnother great DIY video. Went with Rock Hard -AL evap skid last year. Used tin snips to cut that thin bracket and tossed it in the trash.
ReplyDeleteCool Fiat!
ReplyDeleteDo all of their skids work together? I noticed you can buy them all separately. Also, no promo code?? 😉
ReplyDeleteNo promo codes .. RH4x4 doesn't seem to want to help with those....And they can all interlock or be installed independently
ReplyDeleteI agree - a relocation kit is much better solution. There is a lightweight aluminum relocation kit that is great for this. It is made by TNT Customs.
