I helped CJ install his Smittybilt SRC rear bumper and tire carrier. We had a few challenges, but we got it done as usual. I let him do most of the work on this one while I was working on my own Jeep.
This is the bumper and tire carrier combo:

As you can see in the video, we didn't get the final mounting bolts in because we will need to drop the fuel tank, and we just weren't ready to do that yet. We'll do that part later.

The inner bolts are a bear to get to. I had to drop the tank. Before you open the back gate take out the grease fitting. You will break it off.
ReplyDeleteI installed this last week on my 2003 TJ
Nice job CJ.
ReplyDeleteDude, Smittybilt is notorious for the bolt issue. I installed this exact same bumper about 4 months ago and i also had to go to the hardware store to get some correct size quality bolts to use. SMH
ReplyDeleteYeah smittybilt had to get that bolt situation figured out for their products. I got their nerfbars side steps for my jk and had to make a trip to the store to get the right ones. Anyway, looking good. Can't wait to see what tire/wheel combo is coming for this.
ReplyDeleteWhen you fully open the tailgate does it interfere with the grease fitting
ReplyDeleteCould you please do a review on your bestop trek top nx fo the jku?
ReplyDeleteWhen you do tires look into bfg, I have km2 love em the all terrains are great also, espescially if it does a lot of highway
