  1. Why connect the negative cable last?

  2. CPO, another great video as usual! Was also looking at battery chargers as well, and this is very helpful. Question, you mentioned nitrogen, but were you thinking hydrogen?

  4. It's a best practice when working with car batteries. You should connect the positive cable first because if you accidentally short the positive to ground (by accidentally touching your wrench to something metal while tightening, for example) then nothing will happen because the ground isn't connected yet. Then once the positive is on, you move to the negative, and if you accidentally touch the wrench to ground while tightening the negative, nothing will happen, because it's already connected to ground anyway. I hope that makes sense.

  5. hbarias Negitive last. If battery is in the car, then hook the negative cable (of charger or jumper cable) to a good metal un-painted ground that is away from the battery so if a spark occurs, it happens well away from the battery, in case any explosive gases were present. The negative cable extender achieves the same principal, while the battery is out of the car.

  10. It sucks! Sometimes I'll have to re-record and or re-edit for one stupid mistake I didn't catch until it was live. Thankfully this one isn't too bad. Who cares? Nitrogen, Hydrogen. It's gas. lol Good thing this isn't a science channel!

  13. That unit maybe able to recover your battery by leaving it in the conditioning status. I know that with my RC batteries connecting the battery to a cycling/charging device will restore capacity to the packs provided it is recoverable.
