This is part five of the overall Metalcloak Overline Fender install series. This is the rear corner armor or ExoCorner as they call it. It includes an integrated LED taillight. My next video will give detailed instructions on solving the hyperflash issue. Here is the resister I am using: https://amzn.to/2vF6xJE (HINT: I am also using these: https://amzn.to/2qWqB4s)

I'm installing Metalcloak Overline Tube Fenders on my 2015 Jeep JK Unlimited Wrangler. I am also installing the standard overline flares, Metalcloak inner fender liners, the rear overline fenders with exoskin, and the rear corner skins with LED tail lights.

The JK Wrangler 4 Door Rear Flare Mounting ExoSkins provide additional strength to the vulnerable rear wheel well opening.

Designed specifically as a mounting system for Quick Release rear flares, the flare mounting hardware is built right in.

The JK Wrangler ExoCorner LED Kit provides additional strength and rock-biting protection to the vulnerable corner of your 2-door or 4-door JK without the extensive body mods required with other corner guards.

Designed as a kit to work with the MetalCloak ExoSkins and Rear Stock Corner Plates, the parts can also be purchased individually.

  1. Really like how tucked in those taillights are vs the stock ones are...but surprised metalcloak doesn't sell the taillights with the resistor already with it as alot of other taillights come

Yeah it was very close! I'm so glad I didn't have to make any modifications to either one of those to make it work. The only thing is just that little rut that grooved itself from the tire carrier on the passenger side bezel but that's a non-issue.

To be honest, I was surprised as well. I was anticipating the problem, but secretly hoping that they had taken care of it in the design in the recent versions of the product. It's not a hard problem to solve, just a pain to have to buy extra parts.

  6. Very nice! Have you had the TJ offroad yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts between the TJ and JK.

No. It's hardly even got any more road miles on it since building it. It's primary role is my son's first vehicle, and he doesn't even got his license until June... So it sits mostly. We'll get it off road, but I want that to be my son's decision.

  12. CPO, can you still use the stock rear light housings? I have a upgraded pair with LEDs, that I would still like to use with this armor setup. Thanks, Rich

Here's the official answer from Metalcloak: "Our corners only are designed to work with our tail lights. That is why we do not offer the corners on the site without them."

  15. Where can I find the light kit without the entire metal protection.
