Hutchinson Rock Monster Beadlock Wheel & Tire Assembly - Complete - Unedited - Pros and Cons Review

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDx6uOSXjFo&w=640&h=360]

This is a video, unedited and uncut, from start to finish, of me putting together a Hutchinson Rock Monster Bead Lock Wheel assembly. This is just to help you understand what is involved, how long it takes, and what is needed to do it. Sometimes videos have these magical installs that are much more difficult to achieve in the real world... even though they seem so easy in the video. Hopefully this video demonstrates just how easy this process really is! Less than 10 minutes per tire is pretty good, in my opinion.

Additionally, I tell you in the narrative a little about Hutchinson Industries, whether these rims are DOT approved, certified, or compliant, and why, and what the DOT-T label on the side of the wheel means. I did a bit of research on this, and it's crazy what people will make up that isn't true. Hint: It doesn't stand for Trailer or Truck. lol

More detailed installation video will follow, but I think this is a good look at the overall process in case you are interested in looking at these Hutchinson Rock Monsters.

My DeWALT 1/2" Impact Wrench really came in handy here, and I highly recommend it. You can check it out here: http://amzn.to/2zc7QMT

  6. I saw it quoted somewhere that the 17" Rock Monsters are 44 pounds including the beadlock. I probably should have weighed one...but I didn't. I can tell you I noticed the weight difference in re-mounting the tire on the Jeep.... that extra weight made it tougher to put the wheel back on the studs!

  7. Great video! Seeing you do this on your own with nothing more than what I carry on the trail typically gives me real insight as to why these make great sense for my rig!
