We're back in the shop with Paul Warren from World Tour Off Road, and this time he's showing us the process of balancing a tire and wheel setup using his Hunter SmartWeight Touch tire machine. It's amazing how much info you can learn by hanging out with Paul for a few minutes in the shop!

ReplyDeleteRight!? I think he's going to want to have his own channel soon!
ReplyDeletePaul is becoming quite the YouTube celebrity lol
ReplyDeleteThey all balanced fine. The one in the video, oddly enough, was the one that took the most weight, but most didn't very much. I have a different issue I have to sort out, and that's my Dynatrac big brake kit... it doesn't like the weight location (clearance issue) so I need to relocate them. Based on what you said, you may try the beads... maybe that will clean up the 70mph shakes.... but finding someone to properly balance them would be best.
ReplyDeleteHey Overclock3d, how did the balance turn out? I have a pair of Rockmonsters but I havent had mine balanced. It rides ok up to 70mph then I get shakes. Was hoping you had some insight, and how to go about a shop to perform it. Like Paul said, most shops wont even touch them. Looking for a place myself.
