Guest Install #1 - iArmor Aluminum Black Side Steps Installation - Angelo - MUDTRAIL Vehicle Fitment

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNoecRwdoc8&w=640&h=360]

This is my first guest installation!!! What does that even mean? Well... I asked for a volunteer for someone to do an install video for me! Angelo from the YouTube channel MUDTRAIL volunteered!

Here's the product links:

For 07-17 JKU (4 Door) http://amzn.to/2EoH6N2
For 07-17 JK (2 Door) http://amzn.to/2EoviKD

He put these iArmor aluminum side steps on his cousin's 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. These are a really nice looking and super lightweight side step. These are not recommended for someone who does moderate to extreme off-roading. They are made more for looks and to use as a step. They are not made to be used as sliders.

Thanks, Angelo, for the great unboxing, installation video, and review!

Measuring Thrust Angle and Rear Axle Square Alignment 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK / JKU

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUCMRLVBaxE&w=640&h=360]

I have been suspicious that my rear axle is not completely square in comparison to the center line of the Jeep... so in this video I show you how I measured that axle alignment (which also impacts the thrust angle) and then what I did to fix it.

Going Jogging #9 - 360° VIDEO! - Aim Your Headlights People! Jeep Wrangler VR Vlog

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRwXNO5HP4o&w=640&h=360]

Sorry if the starting point is not ideal... I'm still experimenting here...and haven't focused yet on the starting position for the video. I did get my branding break in there! lol

One of my pet peeves is people assuming that blinding oncoming drivers is just a part of owning a lifted Jeep or adding aftermarket headlights that are brighter. THAT IS NOT TRUE! You can have both a lifted Jeep and aftermarket lights and still not blind everyone around you. Aim your headlights properly!!

The general rule of thumb is 2" drop over a distance of 25 feet.

I talk a bit about how to do this in the video, but it's pretty easy.

Going Jogging #8 - 360° VIDEO! Test Run - Upcoming Plans - I Need an Alignment! Jeep Wrangler - Vlog

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16D88Wcu8T4&w=640&h=360]

So this episode of Going Jogging is an excuse to test some 360° video. I have some horrible stitch issues right over the radio, but there isn't much I can do about it. I tried. We'll see if the next video does the same. I've tried several stitching options, and they all come out this way! Anyway... what do you think.

Like it? Hate it? Meh? Let me know in the comments... PLEASE!

I added this camera to my Amazon store, for those who are interested. When I saw this one was down to $70 I jumped on it. It was a $300-$400 camera last year. I am okay being a year behind.

Oh, the store. https://www.amazon.com/shop/o3djeeps

I'm excited to take this camera out wheeling! I have some interesting ideas!

PART TWO - Rapto Worx Fire Extinguisher Mount - JK Seat Bracket - Fire Suppression - Jeep Wrangler

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_yYk55ihp8&w=640&h=360]

Does it rattle? Is it in the way? Can I get to it? These are the questions I answer in this video...

Rapto Worx Billet Fire Extinguisher Mount
http://raptoworx.com/LP/FEM-1/

RaptoWorx looked at various billet and clamp-style fire extinguisher mounts, and found they could build something better. RaptoWorx realized that vibrations, roll-overs and even UV rays can have an adverse effect the various methods people use to secure their fire extinguishers to their vehicles.

So they built a mount with higher-quality components and craftsmanship that make it reliable enough for racing use and with details not found in other mounts on the market.

Going Jogging #7 - How and Why I Started O3DJEEPS - Jeep Vlogging

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGkyV0ppEoY&w=640&h=360]

I reached out to you for topics for this episode of "Going Jogging" and you guys were super helpful! I got a lot of suggestions via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I picked the first two that came in:

"hmmmmmm....how about how you started off with your Wrangler, your website, facebook, ect. What are your goals/plans?"

and

"Go find club member Jeep."

So.. that's what I did! Well... almost.

I can't believe I typo'd weird, and didn't notice until the video was posted. Too late now! lol

If you want to keep up with me outside of YouTube, where I continuously post more random and abstract content.. I can be found everywhere as @o3djeeps.

The Offroad Network - Q&A - What's your scariest moment offroad?

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKPH9evSdi8&w=640&h=360]

This was my response to a question over at The Offroad Network. What's your scariest moment offroad?

Some of you are thinking, "Duh! of course it uses your brakes, and of course they will overheat and fade away!" But then there are others who will not realize this, and can learn from my experience.

It seems so silly now in retrospect... that I wouldn't realize how potentially dangerous leaving Hill Descent Control on for so long was. I knew it had to use brakes (it even says so in the manual) but I couldn't be clear on how much or what other magical methods it used to control speed. I am now convinced that it's 100% brakes.

I use this feature all the time on regular wheeling trips, but this was the first time I used it on extended and constant downhill treks... Miles and miles of constant automated braking... and without the normal feedback of your foot to know that it's just too much. It's not that HDC is bad, it's just that your Jeep is mashing the brakes without you having to think about it...which can be good, but not in this case.

I like(d) to use HDC and then use my shifter to control my speed. It uses your current gear to establish a max speed... so if I wanted to go really slow, I put it in first... and is stays super slow. I want to speed up a bit... I put it into 2nd... or 3rd. But how it's keeping it super slow is just by mashing the virtual brake pedal. I now prefer good ol manual braking... you know... with my foot... so I can sense when I am braking too much and I can adjust my gear or route accordingly.

It was a great lesson learned... but it sure was scary that day! Sometimes experience is the best teacher!

What was your scariest moment offroad?

Going Jogging #6B - Most Popular Jeep Color and Dead Animals - Part Two of Two - Jeep Vlogging

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iN-LnT2V1o&w=640&h=360]

This is part two of a two-part video. YOU HAVE TO WATCH PART ONE FIRST! Trust me. It will make much more sense. Stop this video right now, and go watch part one (Going Jogging #6A).

There were sooooo many Jeeps to count! And how do those dead animals get into the middle of the road? HOW!? Oh... so this was a scientific process to solve the age old question: What is the most popular Jeep Wrangler color? You have to watch both videos to see how it went!!

The pinned post is where you submit your ride. It's not a popularity contest. All Jeeps matter! I will say video or multiple pics with a good story is much better than a single pick, and a little info. Just throwing that out there? This is YouTube, after all. lol

Going Jogging #5 - Snow Day Driving, My LED headlights and Halos, and some other randomness!

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBiw2dP5CD0&w=640&h=360]

In this video I take you on a "snow day" drive... which actually turns out to have been not too bad of a mess. I talk a little about snow and ice driving, then dig into a question from a subscriber about my headlights with halos, and talk a bit about lighting in general. Next, its some random drive time and Jeep spotting!

Oh... here's the lights I have: http://amzn.to/2CG5hZ1

I know you can get them in different colors from different manufacturers.. You probably won't find them with orange main halos tho... I had those custom made. But... white, red, blue, green, etc.. and they have orange blinking halos (which you could wire as the main halo if you wanted).

O2 Sensor Install - OBDII Code P0138 - NGK 23132 - Project 2004 Jeep TJ Wrangler - Howto

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrusWJcKrfs&w=640&h=360]

In this video, I change out a bad oxygen sensor (Bank 1, Sensor 2
- Downstream) but this video will be helpful if you have a code that references other sensors.

There are four O2 sensors in my 2004 Jeep Wrangler with a 4.0L six cylinder engine:

Bank 1, Sensor 1 (upstream)
Bank 1, Sensor 2 (downstream)
Bank 2, Sensor 1 (upstream)
Bank 2, Sensor 2 (downstream)

Based on my research, I recommend only using NGK/NTK sensors as these Jeeps are known to be pretty picky. I can tell you that my install solved the issue, and no more check engine light (CEL) so I feel it was money well spent not having to try a Bosch sensor to find it may or may not work. Anyway...

Here are the NGK/NTK part numbers and amazon links if you need them. These are affiliate links, so it helps me a little if you decide to buy from them... but it doesn't cost you any more than it normally would. :-)

These are for a 2004 (what I have) only... see below for other part numbers. BTW... these prices are much cheaper than what I paid at the local parts store... but I didn't want to wait for shipping.

NGK/NTK #23137 - Bank 1, Sensor 1 (Upstream)
http://amzn.to/2ED3d21

NGK/NTK #23132 - Bank 1, Sensor 2 (Downstream)
http://amzn.to/2CfTlKc

NGK/NTK #23135 - Bank 2, Sensor 1 (Upstream)
http://amzn.to/2qi5BZ2

NGK/NTK #23531 - Bank 2, Sensor 2 (Downstream)

Going Jogging #4 - A Tunnel, Superchips TD2, Seicane, Snow, and Fuel Levels

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7jKkxoaVPc&w=640&h=360]

In this jogging (Jeep Vlogging) episode, I take you on our first night drive, and then a trip into the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel. I talk through my settings on the Superchips TrailDash 2 and specifically some tips on setting tire size, and talk a bit about refueling strategies... of which I have only one. Refuel when the light comes on... lol.
