Here's the link to the fender liners so you can check them out yourself and see if they might be a good fit for you: http://amzn.to/2Crt1Mi
In this video, I walk you through my test bit of these AUXMART aluminum finder liners. For most people, these are probably going to be a very easy installation. For me, however, I do have to make some modifications to clear it existing parts.
These aluminum liners are very thin, which makes them lightweight. However, they also bend very easily. I don't see this as a problem once they are installed. They have a very simple job, and that is to protect if the engine compartment and also allow for some ventilation. I don't think you need heavy duty liners to achieve that goal. So for the price point, these might be a good fit for those of you on a budget or, like me, who want to just experiment was something without spending too much money before you start.

Another great set of inner fender liners are the liners by ACE Engineering. They are a few dollars more than those but they use a 1 piece design and simple to install, and they have the option to insert the led side marker using one of the factory holes near the front of the liner. Definitely enjoy following your jeep build.
ReplyDeleteYeah... I've looked at the ACE liners a few times.... I really needed to just see how much modification I needed with the snorkel before I settled on a final product. It seems all of them require some cutting/bending for that... so I decided to cut my teeth on an inexpensive set. :-)
ReplyDeleteNice rig! What brand of rock rails do you have? im looking for one that you can use as a step and or rock climb with that can take a beating.
ReplyDeleteTed Macias oh... These can take a beating! https://youtu.be/otcZ1tAsApw
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about these off-brands on Amazon...on 1 hand, they fill the void for those on a budget that don't have unlimited funds for their build but on the other hand, they blatantly replicate legit companies designs...that's a total ripoff of Crawler Conceptz fender liners, down to the logo. We shouldn't support these off brands, they do nothing for the Jeep community & just leech off the brands that do & keep this industry ticking. By buying these off brand products, we're being detrimental to ourselves because money doesn't go back into R&D for new products, legit companies don't recoup funds to sponsor Jeep events & even channels such as yours, then off brands won't have anything to bootleg.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very valid point, and I don't disagree with you at all. I haven't seen the Crawler Conceptz liners...but I just looked and they are pretty darn close! Unfortunately... the issue is that they all copy each other here and there... even the major brands all are very similar. It's nearly impossible to know who the original is these days! I 100% agree with your sentiment tho!
ReplyDeleteBe sure to paint the mesh ORANGE! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have the DV8’s and had to trim in the same area as you did because the bottom of the inner fenders hit the top part of the speed bump and makes a lot of noise when driving over bumps. Nice Jeep and I enjoy watching your videos a lot!
ReplyDeleteThe ace wouldn’t need any modification. I have them and a few buddy’s have them with same snorkel and they fit Perfect. They also have one for falcon shock that might work better for your shocks and bump stops. They also have the filler space bracket so you don’t have the opening at the back of your fender. Yours look great! Jeep looks awesome and love the channel!
ReplyDeleteSo wait... no modification for the passenger side with snorkel? I have been asking around for the last year for one that would fit without mods... and nobody has been able to help me. I will call them next week!!!
ReplyDeleteo3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] you're right as well...bigger companies are not exempt from doing so either. Perfect example...Teraflex comes out with Hinged tire carrier & right on their heels is Smittybilt & Rugged Ridge w/ clones but at least those companies contribute to the give back to our community. Don't misconstrue my comments as some sort of personal attack on you, I truly appreciate what you do & wish that more Jeep based channels focused more on performance based mods/upgrades & the wheeling aspects of Jeep Life. It's because of you that I run a full Yeti XD set-up...tierod, top mount DL w/ Griffin & that monstrosity they call a trackbar Lol. I just deemed it necessary to voice my opinion to make people aware of the repercussions & domino effect it has on the industry by being a patron of some of these offbrands. Not to mention, lack of quality control & customer service...In the event that someone has issues with a product from an off brand, it could be a pita to get it rectified.
ReplyDeleteI take no offense to your comments... they are legit concerns. I was super into the RC heli world a few years ago...and it was the same issue... clones vs originals...
ReplyDeleteDo a video on what you use for the side marker light and hook up. I’m thinking about doing something like that too.
ReplyDeleteLooks great. 👍🏽👏🏽
ReplyDeleteabsolutely!
ReplyDeletePlease show us the snorkle side. I haven't seen any videos regarding the snorkle side. I'm curious to see how you tackled that before I commit.
ReplyDeleteGood review as always but I could do with out all the cutouts on the liners themselves. I think they would look way cleaner if it didn’t have the mesh and Jeep cutout. Just another example of folks putting to much crap on their rigs. Looks like a Van Gogh painting coming down the street.
ReplyDeleteare they paintable to your opinion?
ReplyDeleteDon't know if you saved too much money doing this. Doesn't look like this kit came with the inner fender inserts. Now you may have a gap between the sheet metal of the fender and the tub. Metal Cloak, JCR and I believe Crawler Conceptz inner fender kits come with them, Ace has them as an option. Take a look at Aces install video you'll see what I'm talking about. You may not need the inserts It depends what kind of aftermarket fenders you've got, some of the come with them for added strength for the fender. Anyway I've got a set of JCRs if you need them. Let me know.
ReplyDeleteHey I saw you today at target looks like you didn't keep them on they look cool if you want to sale them I'll take them
ReplyDeleteSo I really haven't fully installed them yet... so that's why they are not on. This video was a test fit of the drivers side...but I still have the more challenging passenger side to deal with. I pulled it off because I didn't want to run just one side, and I still would like to paint them.
ReplyDeletethey look good so would you sat it a good work
ReplyDeleteWill these work with stock fender flares
ReplyDeleteLove your Jeep man!!! What paint are you going to use to paint them with?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm going to start with a self etching primer and then probably a roll bar paint (black matte). I'll prob put a matte clear on it as well..
ReplyDeleteYes... but you may need to do a little plastic cutting.
ReplyDeleteWas just looking at these the other day, and i gotta say i like them even more after seeing them mounted.....cant wait to see how they look painted also!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you only going to line the front?
