Great video! Where's all the snow?.. is the aluminum foil shielding something?
ReplyDeleteVideos to watch at work tonight! :-)
ReplyDeleteThought mine was leaking too. Turned out to be a bad radiator. Too much stuff attached to the radiator causes a leaky top tank.
ReplyDeleteMy radiator was replaced last year...thankfully under warranty!
ReplyDeleteNo snow... and a crazy warm day today! The aluminum foil tape is on the anti flicker harness for my headlights. I was getting interference with my CB and my halos, and trying things to see if I could resolve it. The foil tape didn't matter... but I just left it on there.
ReplyDeleteo3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] ok, the flickering could be the location of the cb antenna...
ReplyDeletei would have kept the other cap as a spare.
ReplyDeleteHal 9000 nah.... I actually did that troubleshooting when the antenna was still mounted on the back
ReplyDeleteYou saw me struggling with that decision for a second...the reality is that I have ton of crap in the garage that I kept - just in case. In truth, I'd rather buy a replacement then put something else in the garage that I'll probably never use. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAside from all the upgrade and mod videos, and one oil change, this is the first repair video I've seen for the JK. I'll have to save it in the archives. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWell....buckle up... because i have a thermostat housing leak to fix. Just waiting for decent weather for a few hours when I have some time! OVERCLOCK3D is about to turn 60K, so there may be more repair joy for you in the future!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you purchase the orange roll bar cover
ReplyDeleteWhy did you like the other cap better?
ReplyDeleteMy Mechanic at Adrenaline Off Road just replaced 2 radiators on two different Jeeps from 2014 & 2015 and seen leaking on at least 2 other Jeeps. It seems to be a problem with Jeeps from around this time. The theory is the coolant, I am told some time around 2012 they switched to a more environmentally friendly. If I remember right the switch was from orange coolant to a purple/pink? coolant. If you look at the bottom of your radiator you can see the coolant spots. Anyways just wanted to share.
ReplyDeleteJeep was having an issue with sand in the coolant on the JK's. Have you seen any sign of it on your 2015? My 2014 didn't seem to. I'm wondering if they've fixed the issue.
ReplyDeleteI've been sorta monitoring that issue, but I haven't seen anything with mine.
