If you are totally new to doing your own Jeep maintenance, this might be something that nobody has told you yet! Many people who have done this before may not even realize there is a right way and a wrong way to insert the filter, and many of the howto videos I have seen don't cover this. So here you go!
What air box do you have and why?
ReplyDeleteI have a Rugged Ridge modular snorkel. http://amzn.to/2HpBRh9 Snorkel protects my intake from water infiltration when I nose into deep water, and because it pulls air from outside of the engine compartment, it also acts as a cold air intake.
ReplyDeleteo3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] Did you ever make a video on it? If so, I must have missed it.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip that I am sure many people have screwed up! I watch all your videos and your one of the causes (Jason at AutoEdit too) I keep spending $$$ on my Jeep, but that's ok with me :-). Question, my next upgrade is muffler/exhaust, cold air intake and maybe a snorkel. I have read so many mixed reviews, positive and negative about snorkel (yes, positive for water crossings) but not always positive reviews on "cold air intake/snorkels" benefiting the "cold air". Would it be possible to do an air temperature test on a stock air intake at the filter vs the cold air intake/snorkel set up to see if their is a reasonable difference in air temp? Which is what we are trying to achieve with this set up. And because ewe all love the rumble of exhaust notes, does the cold air intake give you that added throttle rumble....Vroooooommmm, Vroooommmmm :-). Thank you for all your awesome videos!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust watched your old videos on the high lift Jack mods I noticed your shackle did not look like it had a load rating I highly suggest changing to a cm shackle or Crosby shackle with a nut and bolt style pin as opposed to screw in pin. shackles without load ratings are junk plain and simple
