What a great day! Metal Masher is a Jeep Badge of Honor Trail, so make sure you check in if you are collecting badges. KL was a great guide... so thanks to you for recommending him, and thanks to Twisted Jeeps for allowing him to spend a couple of days hanging out with me!
Overall, I'd rate Metal Masher as a moderate trail, with some optional advanced obstacles. We didn't hit several of the big obstacles because there was just more risk for vehicle damage or breakage. I asked KL to keep things on moderate range of the "Easy - to - Extreme" scale. And that... he did. That's also why wheeling someone familiar with the trail is nice... they know where all the bad things happen. :-)

That shelf at 11:50 is insane!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever been to Moab? Did you love it? lol Do you think I played it too safe on Metal Masher? Let me know!
ReplyDeleteI know... I was like, yeah.. I'm okay dragging out the winch on this one. hahaha
ReplyDeleteBetter safe than sorry! I was far more reserved than you were knowing I had to drive 1400 miles back home, with my daughter!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the video! Looked like another awesome day on the trail!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun!
ReplyDeleteLove all the videos! What suspension is he running on the white JKU? Is everything rancho? If so how does it handle?
ReplyDeleteGreat video. What psi were you all running in your tires?
ReplyDelete“Do you think I played it too “Safe” on Metal Masher”... You drove there from Maryland, and You have to Drive home... So No! 😃
ReplyDeleteK. L. Typically leads the most difficult trail during EJS, Pritchett canyon for our club, the Red Rock 4-Wheelers as well as being a full time guide for Twisted. Not a bad choice at all if you are in Moab and want or need a local knowledge guide.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Schultz yeah... K.l. was great. He might have secretly wished we were in buggies... Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteO3DJeeps I bet! Lol
ReplyDeleteI think I was around 10-12
ReplyDeleteEverything Rancho. They love them... from our discussion out there.
ReplyDeleteWhat does O3D and CPO mean?
ReplyDeleteNice vid! I was there 3 months ago and skipped the Widowmaker obstacle...I got scared...I was in a 2 door JKR. Do you think the wheelbase of a 2 door could had done it??? I didn't even think of using the winch as a fall backwards preventer.
ReplyDelete+o3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] is that what they recommended? I was told many different pressures from 3 to 20. We are supposedly going there in the spring...so I was just curious
ReplyDeleteThat's just usually what I run. If you don't have beadlocks... you don't want to go below 12-15 ish... that's what I normally aired down to when I running normal wheels.
ReplyDeleteNow that's what I'm talking about! Grade video... Keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible shot at 13:00 - pointed almost straight up at the sky.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable video. Excellent job. I’m sure it took lots of shots to put it together. BTW, at the Widow Maker, it would’ve been nice to see how he connected your Warn to. I didn’t see any big trees or boulders?
