In this video, I plug everything into the brain (except for the final two optional sensors I'll add later) and tuck it away in it's new home. I show you how to program the blade to recognize and operate with your specific vehicle, and I show you how to use Vehicle Learn to handle a bunch of programming steps... automatically!
Here's the playlist containing all of the videos for this install:

Here's the OMEGA Excalibur Video on Vehicle Learn:

Vehicle Learn is a patent pending technology introduced with the new Excalibur 70 series remote start line. It's one of several time saving installation technologies developed for the 70 series. In less time than programming one feature manually, you can accomplish the following:
- Set engine type
- Automatically recognize the ignition switch sequence and configure all primary outputs to match
- Confirm how many circuits were detected and that connections are good
- Automatically detect and select proper data port protocols
- Automatically detect and select the best available engine detection method
- Enable manual transmission reservation mode
- and a few more tricks up our sleeves...
PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT INFO!
So you want to install an alarm system and remote start into your Jeep Wrangler? Well… this is the page for you! What follows below is the complete video series regarding the selection, overview, installation, setup, and howtos of the Omega Excalibur AL-1775-3DB security system and remote start I installed in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler with automatic transmission. If you happen to have the same vehicle (including similar years) then this page should be a step-by-step guide for you. If you have a manual transmission, there will be some additional steps and wiring for you, and what exactly depends on what year your Jeep is. I tried to mention some of those things throughout the video series. If you have a 2017 or newer, also note that the access to the ignition switch harness is a little different. I’ll also try and help you out there.
Please watch all of the videos BEFORE YOU START your own installation. This is important because I may point out things in later videos that would be helpful to know about early on. It’s just part of the process. Once I get into the install, I know more about what exactly needs to be done, versus what I believe needs to be done. A great example of this is the wiring for the parking lights. In the wiring prep video, I told you that you needed three wires for this because that was the industry standard based on how the Jeeps were wired. However, in actual testing during the install (and working closely with the tech guys at Omega Research and Development) I found that only one wire was really needed. So I modified the harness from the original 9 wires, down to 7!! BONUS!!!

Hey CPO, you seem like youre great at browsing forums and diagnosing issues. I have an 07 4 door auto jeep jku sport. Intermittently when I start the car i get a click noise, but no start. If i put the jeep in neutral, itll start right up. It only happens intermittently but at times could go a week straight of doing it, or a month without. I have yet to see a solution to this issue so if you have any ideas please let me know. I have replaced the starter, and battery and it still does it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDang, I installed a similar system years ago on an F150 and I would have killed for something this easy. They did a darn good job with it. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the proximity sensor. Having a soft top on my rig that would be huge for a good sense of security since you all know how easy it is to get in.
ReplyDeleteThank you CPO for an EXCELLENT set of install videos, your attention to detail is top notch! I have been looking for a system exactly like this but there has been nothing with such a "simple" DIY wiring design (I am a DIY high-end Jeep audio installer, this is why I say "simple"). Living in Canada the Excalibur AL-1775-3DB and the add-ons just like your install from KICKYRIDE.COM will put me close to $400.00CDN, thanks to you I feel 100% confident that this is the best DIY system for me. Hopefully the discount code at KICKYRIDE.COM is still useable :-).
ReplyDeleteNice!!! Watching now.. So can you create another playlist and go thru the removal process of all that you put in?? Hahaha ;)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Just watch all of the videos in rewind!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the code is still useable! let me know if that's not the case. It really is hard to beat it for price (even CDN I assume) and easy install.
ReplyDeleteYeah... prox sensor was important to me. I'll get it in soon...but wanted to get through the basic install. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend to add the prox and hood tilt sensors.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it. Why the hood tilt with the hood pin? Do they both accomplish kinda the same thing?
ReplyDeleteNot to jump on CPO's vid, but next time try pushing forward on the shifter (maybe need to give a decent smack) and see if that helps. Sounds like your Neutral Safety Switch might be acting up. Also try some of the Wrangler forums for more advice....
ReplyDeleteI checked with some folks in my club and also did some quick searching. The consensus is that its likely your Transmission Range Switch that is bad (most people call it a Neutral Safety Switch). Regardless of what you want to call it (TRS is the proper term I believe) it's not an easy fix. There are instructions on how to bypass it...but I'll leave that to you to search out. Almost everyone that has experienced it just seems to live with it. You might also try just pushing forward on the shifter (pushing it farther into park) to see if that gets it to start.
ReplyDeleteYeah... but in a different way. Basically its an easy redundancy for a couple of bucks. It's not needed...but adds another layer of security. That's why I didn't add it right away... because I didn't want people to feel that it was necessary. I also have some other things in mind... later on...
ReplyDeleteHA! I totally didn't see you replied...and I gave the same advice on pushing up on the shifter! lol Here's another "solution" I got... "Easiest fix is run a ground from the battery to the transmission. Otherwise you have to take apart the transmission to get to the part. I also replaced the battery and the starter before finally figuring this out."
ReplyDeleteOVERCLOCK3D Jeeps nice!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat video series!
ReplyDeleteJust got the OVERCLOCK3D bundle in, installing it soon. Thanks for the very informative videos, looking forward to the next one!
ReplyDeleteI love your videos and I am about to pull the trigger on one of these systems but I have a concern. The final step of programming the "blade" was to hit the unlock button. My JKU Sport does NOT have electric locks - Can I still use / make this system work with out power locks?
ReplyDeleteWayne Vedvig that sir, is a great question! I'm running down the answer for you and I'll get back to you as soon as I know for sure.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your help your videos are excellent!! I'm trying to figure out how smart the blade programming is. I know you mentioned that it'll pickup an existing hood pin. I've got a 2015 with the factory remote start and alarm, so with the blade picking up the hood pin I'm planning to use the gray wire to hook up the tilt sensor. I'm also thinking because I have the factory alarm on the buss it may pick up the horn too, that'll save a couple of wires if that's the case. I'm also wondering about the dome lights. Do they come on when you unlock? I'm trying to figure out if I need keep some of the lighting circuit wiring in the 18 pin harness to keep the dome light functionality . Thanks again CPO
ReplyDeleteWayne Vedvig Here's the answer (from the manual): If vehicle is not equipped with OEM remote, press module program button.
ReplyDeleteYes. The dome lights work just like of you unlocked with the OEM remote. The vehicle learn process should pick up the hood pin, so, yeah you can use that gray wire as you suggest. You still have to wire the horn unfortunately. I have factory alarm in mine too.
ReplyDeleteGreat! Thanks! I will place my order soon. Again I enjoy your videos - keep them coming!
