In this video I finally get to installing the Omega proximity sensor for my Excalibur AL-1775-3DB Alarm and Remote Start system. I placed this in the lid of the center console for a couple of reasons:
1. It's an easy location to install, and easy to run wires to
2. It's practically dead center in the passenger area of the Jeep!
This required lengthening the wires for the prox (motion) sensor...but I show you how I used wires I already had. I borrowed some length of wiring from shock sensor that wasn't needed.
The AU-94TM is designed to provide both internal and external zones of protection for the vehicle. When the exterior zone is penetrated by someone, a pre-warn signal is generated and sent to the security system's pre-warn input. When the interior zone is violated, the system immediately triggers.
Features:
• Dual zone sensing protects both an inside and outside of the vehicle
• Each zone is independently adjustable
• LED sensitivity test light
• Pre-wired 4-pin plug allows easy connection to all Omega systems

ReplyDeleteYep, I'm south of Baltimore... I will be doing some more videos on the prox and shock sensor settings, and also the hood tilt sensor. Trying to get everything! It just takes so much time. I checked out your channel and you make great hi-quality videos...so I know you feel the pain! lol
ReplyDeleteYeppers! Back ones are likely going on tomorrow... as I wrap up the rear suspension. It's been sitting waaaaaayyyyy to long.
ReplyDeleteGreat video. That prox sensor looks just about perfect. The location was pretty great too!
ReplyDeleteDavid Marzilli Thanks. It worked out well.
ReplyDeleteOk I already have a remote start installed it myself but now I’m thinking of doing this alarm very nice and detailed like alway.
ReplyDeleteI've got sound deadening and carpet and found it way really easy to get this done without taking the console apart at all. I snaked the wire down the drivers side console armrest using the coat hanger/ string trick as CPO showed to the console upper tray position. Then I just tucked the remaining wire along the drivers side console, pushing the wire underneath the console and between the carpet all the way to the dash. No prob, worked great whole job took maybe 10 minutes. Thanks for showing how the console upper tray came apart that was the key!
ReplyDeleteLoving that location!! Now I have to move mine haha!!
ReplyDeleteHa! Where did you end up putting yours?
ReplyDeleteThanks for this comment! I was going to bring up the fact that you could probably just run the wires around the side of the entire console, but I totally forgot!! If I had carpet, I might have done it that way anyway, but can't be positive.
ReplyDeleteThe additional alarm features are worth it in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteIn the lower part of the center console next to the cupholders
ReplyDeleteOVERCLOCK3D Jeeps haha yes I have about 20 videos sitting just to be edited :) coming soon
ReplyDeleteCouple of interesting things. On my install the Blade picked up my parking lights using data, meaning I didn't have to run the white wire to the Jeeps parking light circuit. I ended up using the white wire to flash other aux lights I have installed. Also got the Linkr going and that worked great. A couple of bumps in the road on that install but nothing huge, learned a lot about how it works. Had to extend the wiring quite a bit to reach the position I put it in and did run into a bit of an issue and had to call Omega support. The first thing they asked once they found out I had a Jeep was if I had bought the Overclocked package!
ReplyDeleteA TJ video coming soon?
ReplyDeleteAfter watching these videos I went out and bought this system! I now love it and you made it so easy to install as well. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thanks for the feedback!
ReplyDeleteActually... one coming up very soon.. maybe in the next day or two.
ReplyDeleteHA! Interesting. I never tried without the white wire... so that would be awesome if that could be totally eliminated!
ReplyDeleteI am looking at possibly doing this, but I have a manual and don't want to take the center apart at all because of that. My question is, would that metal get to hot around the trans? I mean their is heat shielding there from the factory for a reason right???
