I love all the jeeps with all the upgrades. But there is little to none on most jeep channels about the engine. i have a 2017 with a Chrysler Pentastar engine. One of the things that annoys me the worst is the engine rattle at startup. I have heard your jeep (Overclock) do this on your videos. It appears to be caused by no check valve in the oil filter system allowing the filter to drain back to the oil pan over night. It does not appear to do short term damage but it could cause damage in the long run. This engine is known for having to replace camshafts and rockers at 100,000+ miles and starving the the engine of oil usually results in cam/valve train failure. Is their a after market setup to prime the engine just before each startup. Example: at setup, when you turn the ignition switch from off to on such a system could apply oil pressure to the oiling system, filling the oil filter with oil and apply oil pressure the the entire engine. No more rattle at startup.
Peter Price while those upgrades are indeed good ones like all upgrades they come with time and money but they in no way stop me from serious wheeling. Much is made of this but there are a huge huge number a serious wheelers that run stock rubicon set up let alone mine with trusses and gussets and chrome moly shafts and high quality gears. The factory 44’s are actually very strong unless you wheel stupid. I’ve wheeled it for two years now with zero issues in trail sections where my rig was the only one in 15 that was able to make it through. I’ve had him standing on two wheels way more than even I like and all kinds of twisted up and three wheel stands with not a single drive train issue. I’ll agree those are great upgrades and i do plan on Currie extra width full float front and rear 60’s and atlas in the future, but never fear until then my rig will get wheeled hard until bank account allows or a break forces those upgrades !!!!!
Yes I was just wondering you answered my ? I still run my 44s. On my 06. I live on the rubicon and 4 Dyce trails never have any trouble. Well have fun out there.

ReplyDeleteLego Set is definitely a badass rig.
What's on the upper door hinges? There seems to be a sleeve poking out the bottom on both the front and rear upper door hinges.
