Yes... I said "motor" a lot. Not sure exactly why... since I don't normally refer to my engine as a motor...but since the skids mount to the "motor mounts" I had motor on the brain. Why do they call them "motor mounts" anyway, if everyone agrees it's technically an "engine"? Anyway... I am not going to re do the video to say "engine skid" or "oil pan skid" (which is actually what RH4X4 calls it) just to not bug everyone. If it really bugs you when I say motor... please click "Next" on your video player... or at least fast forward to the part where I start the install since I stop talking and start working. :-)
That is something to watch. There is quite a bit of room for air flow. I know people who don't run skids full time, just for that reason. I'll be watching it for sure.
I have had mine going on two years, works great! They come in steel and aluminum, I chose steel for engine/trans and aluminum for transfer skid plate. Engine temp have remained the same but no rock crawling -live in Florida. Lol

ReplyDeleteWith all of that steel down there, I would be concern about high engine temps.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Thinking about putting this on my Jeep now.
ReplyDeleteLooks Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThe look is awesome! Definitely interested in seeing how the skid system holds up on your Moab trip!! Have fun!!
ReplyDeletewhat about armour for the control arms skids and that a FRONT AXLE SKID from Artec?
ReplyDeleteAn engine is a type of motor. Those who have a problem with the term 'motor' better stop using motor oil in their engines.
ReplyDeleteAmen Brother! I'm just forcasting the trolls given the large amount of "motor vs engine" memes that exist in the interwebs! lol

ReplyDeleteWould be curious if this increases your gas mileage with less air turbulence underneath.
