How to Read Codes on Jeep TJ Wrangler Without a Code Reader P0455 P1685

  4. o3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] the thing about the tj is that it gives a lot of generic code like “transmission fault” and it requires a code reader to get a more in depth code

  7. I had the P0455 on my 2001 TJ for a while. Assumed it was the gas cap since it was original to the Jeep. Replaced the cap and reset it, but the code would continually show up after a couple days of driving. Found some dry rotted vacuum lines/elbows under the hood one day near the brake booster and replaced them. The code hasn't shown back up in over a year.
