[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7C2_E9n0Kg&w=640&h=360]

I was curious to find out if my Daystar Cowl Hood Scoop vented air out (blows) or sucks air in. So I tested it....

  1. Not sure. Could be external wind environment blowing the yarn. You need a controlled experiment. Perhaps in a location where there is no wind blowing....like a large warehouse.

  2. I think you need to paint those exhaust ports. That wrap looks a lot more yellow than orange.

brett cabeca it's just more of a florescent orange. I'm planning to try a different color when I have a chance. Burnt orange will probably be closer to what I want.

  8. Hey brother, I'm the one that asked the question in the initial video. I guess I didn't realize that it isn't a true cowl induction that is open at the cowl but it seems to work in the same way that they do. What we really need to know is, does it lower engine temps or just hood temps and what does it do to the engine intake. I know you are running an aftermarket snorkel so it doesn't do anything to your setup, as far as intake. I have a Banks tuned intake on mine and I need something that isn't going to impede intake velocity and being that this one blows I feel it would work in my benefit. Thanks brother!

  9. IMO at idle the scoop discharges some hot engine heat but at speed air from the fan blades and grill intake create a mild scoop port suction. Is there a bubble developing from the black wrap near the yellowish scoop port? I think a better shade of orange wrap for the scoop ports would complete your theme better.
