I've been getting a lot of questions about my new Rain Gear Trail Cover (http://raingearcovers.com) so I'm posting this update after a pretty significant thunderstorm event.
Here's the info from their website:

Raingear covers are specially designed to cover your Jeep in minutes when the weather suddenly changes or if you're on the trail and don't want to bother with a hard top or doors. Raingear covers are made of high quality vinyl backed material and are made to cover the entire door area when you don't have you're doors on, they are also equipped with eight straps and buckles to ensure it stays on in high wind. All covers come with a handy compact bag to store your cover when not in use. If you're at work or out on your favorite trail and don't have time to put on your hard top when the weather turns, then this cover is perfect for you.
Our covers are made from a durable canvas material with a thick vinyl backing.
We form fit all of our covers to insure that the elements stay out and your vehicle stays dry.

I was wondering how good this cover would do during a rainy night, all the other covers dont seem as good as this one. Definitely made my decision on buying this cover. Thank you for the videos on the cover it helped
ReplyDeletehello thank you again superb video of the accessories of the jeep superb place the forest the fields of the birds superb a calm place as I like to part to this days the bad weather thank you Chris
ReplyDeleteThat did 👍 great. Fits like a glove so apparently wind will not be a worry, either. Thanks for sharing 😊
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day to your Mrs 🌷💐🌹
Humm just wondering... not related to the rain gear top but have ya thought about incorporating a FOB for your alarm when your doors are off?
ReplyDeleteThis did a great job. I ordered the Bestop All Weather trail cover and will have it this week. Hope it does as good of a job keeping the water out. Has good reviews but we'll see.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJeep Life71 let me know when you get a good rain test!
ReplyDeleteBrian Fergusson interesting thought...but not sure if it's an easy option to add.... It's mostly just annoying when I am videoing or working on the Jeep. When I am actually going somewhere, its not as much of an issue.
ReplyDeleteo3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] Will do
ReplyDeleteo3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] I'm not sure either. I'm not as techy as you are hehehe. Just thought it would be nice to jump in and go and a FOB system came to mind
ReplyDeleteGreat Video. As usual. Do you not keep your Jeep in your garage on a nightly basis?
ReplyDeleteThat alarm gets you all the time.
ReplyDeleteWith being an MD jeeper as well that storm sucked tho seriously enjoyed starting my day to this video. Honestly have been considering this cover since your last video on it. Way easier then scrambling last minute to put my top on before it started raining last night. Really glad to see it really does keep things dry as well how quick putting it on/off.
ReplyDeleteNot lately... The garage has been in various stages of mess... so I haven't actually parked the Jeep in there for about a year.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am taking the hard top off for the summer for the first time and adding a cargo net in the back. This cover will be a great to cover the jeep at night or even in the garage until winter when i put back the hardtop. What do you think? Awesome video.
ReplyDeleteAre you disabling the radar sensor for your alarm with the doors off? Or did you just change the sensitivity? Wondering if no doors increased the perimeter prewarn zone any
ReplyDeleteo3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] Lol I completely understand that!
ReplyDeleteI put a telescoping pole in the cup holder and extend it up to the underside of the cover. It’s creates a higher center point preventing the pools of water.
ReplyDeleteIt's not disabled, and that's what you hear in this video. I did have to adjust the sensitivity because with the doors off it was much too sensitive. It was tripping at people who parked next to me. So I adjusted it so you have to be right at the edge of the Jeep for it to pre-warn, and then sitting in the Jeep will actually set the alarm off.
ReplyDeleteMy Rain Gear cover is 4 years old. Still looks and works as good as day one..... I apply UV block once a season.
ReplyDeleteYou should ask omega to make a proximity tag/key for those of us who like to just jump in when the doors are off.
ReplyDeleteI haul my Jeep on a trailer to the trails. Can the cover with stand prolonged wind of 70 mph?
