You ever thought of putting antirocks on ? I know a lot of people that ended up having a lot of problems with the the rubicon sway bars. Like bending the links, Like my buddy did this weekend turned the jks links into a Rainbow π lol
ReplyDeleteTH media about half the people I have talked to that have the anti-rock said they would do something different if they did it again. I don't see these links bending....not sure what he's using. My JKS rear adjustable links are thinner, and I can see it happening with those.
ReplyDeleteGreat vid CPO! Thx..very helpful!ππ
ReplyDeleteo3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] my buddy had the same links And bent them. he is going on his 3 par now. I love my antirocks .i work for FCA and a lot of my Jeep buddy’s here Swap out for the antirock. I know everyone has their opinions on what parts are the best lol.
ReplyDeleteTH media well... I guess I'll see how it goes for me. Lol.
ReplyDeleteo3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] Lol that’s all you can do buddy!! I love your Jeep, you ever want to hit Moab with us your more then welcome to join. Your channel is a big hit here in the plant !!
ReplyDeleteTH media you know I'm planning Moab in the first two weeks of September? I'm seriously looking for someone to show me around.... Does that align with anything? I'd love to tag up...
ReplyDeleteWowww love this will be doing this
ReplyDeleteo3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] That maybe Doable throw me some dates.I was out there the week of EJS. My first kid will be born in July I’ll Have to talk that over with the wife and see if I can get off of work. I know for sure next year we are going out June 8-15th. It’s a big kids Disney World lol π would love to meet up tho!!
ReplyDeleteCPO great vid again bud. Keep it up
ReplyDeleteSweet definitely looking in to doing this to the take off Rubicon sway bar I have on my JKUS!!
ReplyDeleteNow I just need on board air and the money for the kit!!
Oh the #Jeeplife!!
Thank you
ReplyDeleteCould I have you do me a huge favor? Could you turn your wheel fully to the driver's side and then swing your swaybar arms down, as if your driver's side tire was in full droop, and see if your SS draglink hits the bar?
ReplyDeleteHoly wheel weights Batman
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if this is possible on a non Rubicon tj as well?
ReplyDeleteHaha.. it's actually not that bad, but to clear my Pro-Grip big brake kit, we couldn't have any weights inside...you know where they would normally go... so we had to get creative with tiny sized weights along the lip... It works! lol Heavy tires and monster heavy beadlock wheels.... lol
ReplyDeleteWe're going the first two weeks in September...but not sure exactly what days we will be in Moab yet... part of that will be the drive out... I'll be doing Black Bear Pass since it was closed last time I was through there... and probably the Alpine Loop again.... but not exactly sure of the final schedule yet.
ReplyDeleteYeah... no problem. I'll try and do that this weekend. Remind me if I forget.
ReplyDeleteI also have the SteinjΓ€ger quick disconnects. I won them at the OBX Beach Clean-up last summer at Corolla, NC. Sponsored by Virginia Off-Road and Hampton Broncos Club (3x as many Jeeps showed up than Broncos, FYI). I couldn't beat Free-Ninety-Free. But I tell people that I highly DON'T recommend them. People always hear you coming if under 35mph. Sounds like I'm pulling a trailer full of hubcaps. Functionally they are pretty good. Just can't stand the noise. I keep a can of WD40 Silicone spray under my seat and spray them a couple times a week just to keep the noise tolerable. The volume button on the radio also helps.
ReplyDeleteThe Wifey & I are both going with the Sway-Lock for our rigs.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably going to be in part two. lol
ReplyDeleteThey told me last year at All Breeds that they were coming out with a new design that solves the noise issue... but so far I haven't seen it.
ReplyDeleteI've not seen it... so I am thinking no. Hopefully someone else will know for sure.
ReplyDeleteI looked hard at the sway loc... It was between that and this for me, tbh.
ReplyDeleteNice. Yeah I almost ordered on of these types of things after my last wheeling trip in the UP. Snow wheeling, and the light was blinking the whole time after. When I got home, I ended up having to disconnect the battery. After reconnecting the light wasn't blinking anymore, so I think that stock unit is going bad.
ReplyDeleteAnother reason why to get something like this, is those stock units aren't serviceable, so if they go, you are hosed.
o3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] I bought some Delton washers to put on either side of the swivel but haven't put them on yet.
ReplyDeleteVideos are great, great information on all of them. Just wish I had the money for half of the stuff you did a video on unless your getting free stuff all these parts for 2 jeeps has to cost a fortune!
ReplyDeleteo3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] nice!! I hear black bear is amazing. I’ll be doing that next year on my way out to Moab From there is like 3 hours to Moab Or something like that. But ya if I can’t make it this year. Your more then welcome to join with me next year invite is always open!
ReplyDeleteYou would be better served with a Currie antirock!!! It gives you same flex as rubi sway bar unlocked but with no chance of failure plus the antirock places pressure on the droop side tire which adds to your traction while also on big off camber situations it still controls some body roll !!
ReplyDeleteDavid Bowie I'd disagree with you on that. It does not the have the same flex as a disconnected Rubicon swaybar, which is why it does help with body roll in off camber situations. That is it's best feature, but it does sacrifice some flex. On road, it's not as tight as he Rubi swaybar. It does to be mediocre at road use and many of my friends who run it said they probably wouldn't if they did it over. Just what I am hearing...
ReplyDeleteThe OEM sway bar disconnect upgrade will be super convenient and $$ but I wonder whether the TTO pneumatic kit has addressed the erratic disconnect issues that Rubi owners have or the reports on mud/debris entering the inner gear sections that caused issues. Definitely tempted especially with the discount and free shipping.
ReplyDeleteYep, mine failed while in Moab and I had to drive 2,500 miles home disconnected as I couldn’t get it to reengage no matter what I did. I just went with the manual version instead of the air version.
