This one is a Condition Zero holster and seat bracket that I picked up from Team Tech Offroad. They make them for 4-door and 2-door JKs, but they are different.

https://teamtechoffroad.com/collections/gun-mounts/products/jeep-jk-4-door-pistol-mount

Easily bolts directly to existing seat bracket bolts
Mounts at a 22 degree angle towards driver (Passenger side available in 0* angle only).
Extra slot for spare mag or flashlight

Universal Nylon Holster is included
Fits a variety of pistol sizes from .380 to 9mm to 45cal

However, you can add your favorite holster if you choose.

  1. How hard to get a carry permit In Maryland? I live in WV and avoid Maryland because they are so unfriendly to out of state permit holders

    1. a level one serpa holster can easily be attached to inside of center console. where its easily accessable but also securable when you cant carry into a certain establishment but have it with you

  2. tom armstrong you would have to apply for a non-resident carry permit and be able to itterate in great detail why you feel the need to carry in or thru the state. as well as getting a background check and proof of a proficiant handling and shooting class

Yeah Maryland is one of the most gun-unfriendly States I've ever lived. For the average person it's nearly impossible to get a permit. The only people I've seen who have been able to do it without some sort of a law enforcement tie are business owners who carry large amounts of cash and can justify for business safety.

  6. Looks good, thanks for the video. I think a level 2 safariland or similar bolted to that would do great. However it would add some costs and not be good for the folks that swap carry guns.

    Happy Father's day.

  7. commonwealth states are typically the worst at 2nd amendment rights...

  8. Dan M Blackhawk holster with the quick disconnect also fits perfectly in the center console.👍

  9. Joe Daniels good idea if you have different sidearms you carry. I use just one for my carry so that extra bump out didnt make sense for me. I got my idea from someone who screwed the molle adapter from inside the console. I just took the tray out and screwed the holster to it from inside the console to make the fit as tight as possible to loose least space possible in the cubby

  10. Looks like a solid product with a simple install. I have thought about this a few times. As you stated a long drive or wheeling with a holstered firearm isn't the most comfortable thing in a Jeep. Being 6'3 and 265lbs certainly doesn't help either. I'm not 100% sure how Mass laws would cover this but I'm going to do a little research and call our clubs legal rep. Thanks for the video!

  18. Would it also be near impossible for Active Duty Military to get one? I had one in Indiana, but wasn't sure if it's just as difficult to obtain a permit here.

  19. I love living in constitutional carry Arizona. Permits? We don't need no stinking permits. 😁😁

  23. Friends don't let friends use serpa holsters .. If you get any debris in the locking mechanism it will lock your firearm in the holster and you will have hell getting it out .. If the weapon has a round in the Chambers you have a serious problem ..

    ReplyDelete
  24. Doberman144 obviously you dont know what a level 1 holster is. its a friction fit only with no mechanical retention. Also if you maintain your gear on a level 2 or 3 that is not an issue

  25. I have an install video on this mount as well, I agree with you when you said if your on the trails and want a place to store it on long rides it comes in clutch! On a day to day use on my daily driven Wrangler I do not use it, but the trails we see here in south Florida often times you come on wild boar or alligators so it is nice to always have it within a hands reach and not in a glove box or center console where seconds matter. Great video.

  26. You'd stand a better chance of winning the lottery multiple times. MD is incredibly austere when it comes to issuing carry permits, they also do not honor reciprocity what so ever.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Matthew Cavazos having been prior active duty myself I cant remember MD's law on a.d. military. With DC there esp. You will have to search that specifically. I "think" your answer is no cause I wouldnt stop for anything in MD when I would pass thru to visit my parents in NH on leave. Same as CT and NY.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Dan M yeah the only thing I've been able to find is you are exempt from the mandatory training. But wondering if going thru the paperwork, paying the fee, etc, if being military is enough justification in their eyes.

Not many people carry 1911 these days. Most Police Departments no longer allow them because the cocked and locked firearm is to shocking to the public. I started carrying this in the mid 90s before my Dept added a new policy against it. I was grandfathered so I could continue to carry it. I also carried Glocks... Great guns. I also shot some competition stuff... And the 1911 was perfect for that.

  34. To put things in perspective, just to *buy* a handgun in MD residents go through a process that parrallels the CCW permit process in TX. 4 hour class w/ live fire, preliminary background check, and fingerprinting. After all that, MD is still stingy with issuing permits.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Matthew Cavazos If you can find the law for MD again your active duty ID is your ccw. Alot of states are like that except for NY. NY doesnt care you can handle AT4s and M2s you still arent qualified to carry a sidearm lol

  36. Great vid. Side question. With your 1911 do you conceal or open carry? It’s a larger pistol to conceal

    ReplyDelete
  37. Next install your son one for his TJ lol

  38. o3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ]June 17, 2018 at 10:54 AM

Only conceal. I'm actually not a fan of open carry. With a good gun belt a full size 1911 easily hides under a t-shirt

    ReplyDelete
  39. Great review! Used to be a MD resident but now I’m in TX so I’ll be needing one of these!! Also what seat covers are shown in this video?

    Keep up the good work!

Alien gear has a badass OWB holster that has a bracket that'll attach to your vehicle there as well.

  56. In many states that is true, your Mil. ID is your ccw. However, not in MD. If you make this mistake and get caught, you will be arrested. I've seen it happen. Maryland does not play nice when it comes to firearms.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I love it. As a fellow Second Amendment supporter and retired Trooper, I appreciate your taking the time to do this install.
I guess your Starbucks must have a drive-through.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Don't do this in Florida. Florida law requires, if not on your person as a CCW holder, the firearm to be in a six sided box that is closed. That's all it says. You can put it in a cereal box on your front seat if you want, so long as it has six sides and it's closed. If it's a holster installed in the Jeep, you can be charged with a crime. Unlikely, but possible. For all the naysayers, Florida is a SHALL issue state. Which means the state must have a compelling reason NOT to issue a CCW. Otherwise, so long as you're not a felon, don't have an injunction, and you have a pulse, you get a CCW.

  65. I know the idea behind this.. and I like the idea behind this.. but I dont trust people... and too many places in Texas you cant carry and I get worried leaving gun in jeep and if someone see's this, they might get idea to break into jeep and try and find gun... just my fears.

  66. o3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ]June 21, 2018 at 3:37 PM

bryan wiccedone just to clarify, I would never leave a firearm in this holster if I am not in the seat next to it. It either goes into a lockbox or goes with me when I leave the Jeep.

    ReplyDelete
  67. o3djeeps [ OVERCLOCK3D Jeeps ] oh I am the same way. But a visible holster is still temptation to someone. I have the best top lock boxes under my seats that I keep mine in when I am at work. But i still stay leery due to idk how hard the boxes are to break into... I guess all I am saying is I dont like to add to temptation of those who are of nefarious behavior.
