Awesome was wondering what it would look like for a long time thank you
ReplyDeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteWhat’s the mount above ur license plate?
ReplyDeleteYou should get the locking mount so no one steals it
ReplyDeleteCould not see ur tail lights
ReplyDeleteU should get it locked had mine stolen looks good on Side and back
ReplyDeleteDual on the back. It looks like on the side block some of the brake light.
ReplyDeleteVery cool fuel carrier. And really cool trick with the toothpick and paint. I always just spray directly over the holes and then wipe off the excess. I'm definitely going to go your way from now on.
ReplyDeleteThe Chief in me wants symmetry/dress-right-dress so I say go with two. After a week looking at my lopsided Jeep, I'd have to add another.
How much stress does that tire carrier put on your hinges? That tire looks like it's at least a 18 inches away from the Jeep's skin so that's a lot of leverage on those two hinges.
TREDS Pro mount
ReplyDeletedrove behind you this morning on my way to work, couldn't see your brake light.
ReplyDeleteYou have bound to be an engineer by trade. You are very thorough in the way you work. As an aircraft tech, I like your work hahaha
ReplyDeleteCpo, just installed the same setup on my PSC carrier. On the side it hits the light so I went on the right side of the back. It looks really odd only having one. I won’t be buying another for a while based solely on the price. The truth is you don’t need them on unless you’re out wheeling, otherwise you’re just asking to get them stolen or tinkered with. I’m driving out to Moab next week and will keep them off until I need it, then keep them full for the day.
ReplyDeleteI have the same tire carrier and a pair of Rotopax. I ran some Rigid Ignites beside the license plate to assist my reverse lights. This has forced me to move the Rotopax mounts out to the sides like you show here in your video. I run a pair of 2 gallon cans for extra fuel when overlanding. I have the same concern about the vulnerability of the cans but have never hit them overlanding. Now, when we go play on the rocks they are not on the carrier. That being said, I wouldn't trust them on the back of the carrier either so I guess it really doesn't matter either way. I do use the locking mounts because people suck sometimes so anyone using them I strongly recommend that you spray some penetrating oil in them periodically unless you like Rotopax cans permanently stuck to your vehicle.
ReplyDeleteBTW.. I enjoyed the collaboration with Trail Recon you did! Nice to see the community support each other.
Thanks... I was wondering about that. I think I'm going to go duals on the back then...
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't use the stock hinges... it hangs off it's own supports... I did an install series on it if you want to see more info.
ReplyDeleteYeah... I usually just keep in in the cargo area, but starting to prep for Moab so figuring things out as I go.....
ReplyDeleteOn the back with built-in lock
ReplyDeleteDual
ReplyDeleteI mounted my two pax in the center.
ReplyDeleteGet a lock.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'll look that one up.
ReplyDeleteTowards the end of the video you had the camera viewing directly from the rear and it would appear as if the rotopax is blocking the tail light of your Jeep. Is there any local/traffic regulations regarding visibility of vehicle tail lights that you might get in trouble with?
ReplyDeleteWhere it's currently located it does not look good. It kinda breaks the lines of the Jeep, if you know what I'm saying. Better location is with dual packs right at the back (parallel to the spare wheel), just like you mentioned (my 2 cents)
I have a Rotopax mount for my XRC Atlas rear bumper. I think the price point is way too high for a gas can.
ReplyDeleteCould do 4 2 for fuel and the other 2 water for trips
ReplyDeleteLooks cool cpo,but maybe dual on back looks nice too.
ReplyDeleteI went with duals on the rear. Check out my instagram: jeepdude2012
ReplyDeleteThey probably would be better in back than on the sides. But it looks good!
ReplyDeleteDual on the back, much better look.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get your orange grille insert, and how much was it?
ReplyDeleteOne of the long ones (I think 4 gal) across the back. 2 small ones on the sides. You can use small ones for water and the big one for gas or vice versa.
ReplyDeleteYou are covering you back lights with the Rotopax on the side, somebody will drive into you because of no visible or hard to see back lights... I would mount them on the back for safety measures.
ReplyDelete❤️❤️❤️ Hi. Å´ho wÄ…nÅ£s tо Ä‘aÅ£e me?? See my sexy photos aņd videos ❤️❤️❤️

Check out how I mounted a 4G onto the back of my Poison Spyder carrier then I put KC HiLites Cyclones on the sides- instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BgyjbxQlpHR/?taken-by=casey_250
ReplyDeleteHow do you have the plate and oro light mounted?
ReplyDeleteI made a bracket that goes through the middle hole in the Rotopax out of aluminum flat bar and some long bolts, and it essentially clamps the Rotopax like an "H" on the front and back, then the license plate and light are bolted to the front of the bracket. So when the Rotopax comes off, the license plate and light come with it. The light has a quick disconnect.
ReplyDeleteI would have gone with the old Jerry can myself
ReplyDeleteWhat are the two prongs above your license plate for on the back of your tire carrier?
ReplyDeleteI can see them as great for the trail. Especially overland adventures. Can't see for daily driving, for sure. Sticky fingers everywhere and no way to lock them. Maybe a cable lock or something. It would be nice if Rotopax had a key lock in the center (or do they?).
ReplyDeletewhat is the thing on the tire carrier above the license plate?
