You can paint them orange! oooooooooooo sounds like a good idea to me. :)
ReplyDeleteVincent Valentine yass!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey actually are supposed to come back... Mine didn't. Not sure why. But don't worry about things like that too much. 😊
ReplyDeleteYa I biught them and always love them just finely pulled the trigger
ReplyDeletenice video, however for same price you could buy these and no drilling was needed

“That’s the way it should’ve been from the factory “ - yes! Especially on anything above the base model; kind of absurd that it didn’t come from the factory in this day and age. Ordered this kit.
ReplyDeleteI looked at that, but there seem to be lots of fitment and compatibility issues with them. They don't work with all builds, and have a pretty intrusive bracket system. Drilling a single hole on each side was so easy... lol
ReplyDeleteYep. That’s what she said.
ReplyDeleteThis mod I have been putting off for a while but need to do. Thanks for the discount code!
ReplyDeleteThis is on my cheap mods ToDo list. --- Even at 6' tall... With a 3.5" lift and sitting on 35's, I have still to get on my tip toes every time I need to lift my hood.
ReplyDeleteO3DJeeps I think the fitment issues for these are primarily on non OEM hoods. As much as dislike putting anything from Rugged Ridge on my Jeep, they do tend to makes designs that always try to cater to the "drill-phobic" demographic of Jeep owners.
ReplyDeleteWell you are kind of right. I don't want to drill much in it until its necessary 🙂
ReplyDeleteYou make me spend so much money haha. Thanks for the code!
ReplyDeleteHood struts can modernize the JK and its real cool to watch the hood rise. Disconnected my Rugged ridge hood struts last year after noticing my hood was shifting forward 0.25-0.5" past the grill. I was able to push the hood back into alignment after disconnecting them. Hope the TTO version doesn't have that problem as I really liked the idea but hood shifting sucked..
ReplyDeleteMine are being delivered Monday
ReplyDeleteThe first hole is the hardest! lol Then it starts to get really easy! hahahaha
ReplyDeleteMakes it cleaner and more accessible for maintenance under the hood. Great job 👍
ReplyDeleteOrdered! Thanks
ReplyDeleteI agree it should be a factory option and Mopar does sell a kit for around $100. Have the discontinued Teraflex kit on my JK. After looking around on forums and Amazon you can put together this kit for under $40, but this seems to be a great price with the discount for those that want a company to back it. If you ever want to open the hood all the way to the windshield, just pop off the ends. Another great How-To vid Chris!
ReplyDeleteVery nice....ordered!
ReplyDeleteYes thank you bro. for the hook up
ReplyDeleteordered mine!
ReplyDeleteI went back and rewatched the video. And it’s just how I remembered it!!! What a nice Jeep Scott has. I noticed that he mentioned almost every manufacturer on his Jeep except the one that really manufactures the hood strut kit he has installed on his Jeep. He has the Rugged Ridge kit on his Jeep and it does not requires drilling into your Jeep. It bolts to holes already on the stock Jeep body and comes with a nut plate for the hood end. It’s very obvious that he has the Rugged Ridge bracket on the body side. Although his kit is pretty nice it is not the one he has installed that originally drew your attention in the first place and he totally skipped over mentioning the real manufacture. Sorry...but I hate when people take credit for something they didn’t make and then resale the concept without giving credit where credit is due.
ReplyDeleteThe 20% off Code sold me on this Purchase. Thanks for posting this Video~
ReplyDeleteany idea if these would work on an XJ, i know that they make them for the cherokees but would this exact one work?
ReplyDeleteI use to have 2 balls, then I married my wife
ReplyDeleteHow many of my week long projects have started out with, "... let's just knock this out."
ReplyDeleteWhat length are they?

ReplyDeleteJust ordered mine, thank you sir for the discount!
ReplyDeleteYou should lower it. It's much easier to work on it. I'm on 1.5 in and 37s
ReplyDeleteSharp observation!
ReplyDeleteI just fold the hood back and lay it on the top of the Jeep. A free mod! Lots better light and access where you are working.
ReplyDeleteThat's great I need to do that upgrade
ReplyDeleteSo, I received this product and finally got a chance to install due to all the rain we've been getting over the East Coast. Sad to say I follow all your instructions and my hood had like quarter inch gap in between from closing. I noticed the hood bracket ball was preventing my hood from closing properly?
ReplyDeleteBrandon Koay I asked Scott about this and he said it sounds like you installed the brackets upside down on the hood. I think you have them backwards. The ball should be on the top of the bracket, not the bottom.
ReplyDeleteAh, you are right! Typical amateur mistake I made, lol. Appreciate and thanks for the advise.
ReplyDeleteI put the ball on the outside on rear it was to close to batt pos on my gen battery kit. cleared all good. thanks for the code!
ReplyDeleteThanks, got these and installed today. Rewatched your video which made it so easy.
