Tuffy Security Console Insert Installation with Security Bolts in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMjC1MTiXWE&w=640&h=360]

In this video I install Tuffy Security product number two of three that's going in the front of the Jeep. Last video was the driver's seat conceal carry security drawer, and this one is the center console security insert... and yes, I also added the optional security bolts.

It turns the factory 2011+Jeep Wrangler JK center console into a heavy-duty lockable storage area to help protect valuables from thieves’ hands. Each console allows access to optional factory USB and power source inside console, and does not replace factory console lid to maintain a completely stock look.

  3. Where do you get that trim removal tool? I tried going to my car dealer's parts dept. and they said they don't sell them.

Very nice! When I was shopping for a product like this I was wondering how it was bolted and how securely it would be. Thanks for tips!

As volcer said, Harbor Freight works... or I got a set off Amazon for cheap: https://amzn.to/2zgSNXt But honestly... I wouldn't buy one for this job. That piece of trim you are removing doesn't get re-used... :-)

  11. I’m on my 4th JK and the console box has gone in everyone of them. Jeep has to be stolen for them to get it out.

When you said you wouldn't loose the charging port on the inside, I was trying to figure out how it would work with the metall box, then as you are installing it, I can see it has the little cutout for the wires. That is a very slick box sir, thanks so much for sharing, I can see this being installed on my jeep one day as well, the only thing i keep in the little top tray is a mint or two and insurance card, I never seam to pull the right button and mess with it three or four times anyhow, so one top would be just fine. Keep us posted on how you like it and if is seams to be a pain using the to unlock it when you just need that one little thing and the keys are in your pocket or ignition.
Thanks for the great install video sir and have a blessed and happy holiday.

  18. I ordered mine with the combo version. I can lock and unlock mine while driving if needed.

  19. I have a thumb drive in the USB port with all my music. Will the added thickness of the metal box affect whether the drive can seat or not? 'Hope that makes sense.

  20. Best channel.

Here's to hoping that CJ's TJ gets the same Tuffy love as you document the install [since I drive an older model as well]!

When you started the video it seems like the lid rattles a tiny bit. I instantly expected you to add some foam stripping around the edge somewhere to mitigate that. So does it rattle or is my OCD just ticking again?
