In this video, I install security container one of three in the front of my JK! Today, it's the Tuffy JK Conceal Carry Driver's Side Security Drawer. (And I'm adding that third security bolt!)

This high security 16 gauge steel security drawer mounts under the drivers side seat in a Jeep JK. The formfitting design of the Tuffy lockbox has over 324 cubic inches of lockable storage. It’s secured contents are easily accessed by maneuvering the drawer open and closed on the smooth ball bearing slides using the convenient pull lever.

Featuring Tuffy’s Pry-Guard Locking System with a 10 tumbler double bitted security lock with built in weather seals. The design incorporates a heavy duty fully extending slide system, weather seal & welded construction. A formed rib in the enclosure additionally strengthens the locking system.

Mounts inconspicuously under the drivers side seat in a Jeep JK out of apparent sight of would-be thieves. Uses the factory hardware without drilling. Optional security hardware is included which would require drilling one hole. The drawer must remain locked while operating the vehicle.

  6. I spot welded one of the front bolts. If I ever ever ever ever need to remove my front seat then I'll just grind the weld off

  7. any vibration noise might use rubber on the back bolt ? great video and thanks for taking the time

  8. Quadratec shows one for the passenger side for two-doors. Also, Bestop offers a version that's compatible with both vehicles.

I don't have any vibration noise...the drawer doesn't touch the bolt head (it hangs above it).

  15. One of my favorite mods that I've done on my jeep.

  16. Like the install, thanks for sharing. But when a thief takes the time to unscrew the two bolts holding your seat, he will surely make no problem to unbolt the 3th underneath the jeep (considerng he did his homework about securing this type of box/safe online). I would ask myself, is the 3th bolt worth all the work while thiefs probably will pick the lock 9 out of 10 times.

John A you're missing the fact that you can't get to the third bolt without opening the lock. So if they're going to pick the lock fine, but at least they can't just undo two bolts and take the entire thing they may as well break into the box in place. That's a lot tougher job and a lot more sophisticated Thief. Although I'm a Believer in defence-in-depth so they're going to have to get through the alarm system or deal with that going off the entire time as well

John A I mean yeah.... And there obviously are ways to get a bolt out when you have access to one side....but it's not going to be easy to do, since its above the cross brace. It would be a tough one, but you'd probably have to get a small cutoff wheel up in there.

  19. I see. you are correct for that 3th bolt. Just slipped my mind ;-). In my 1975 CJ5 I had 2 locked cases + a narrow locked area behind the rear seat and a locked mid console. What happened next was that my car got stolen, all those fancy things inside my Jeep made it to "attractive". Now I don't take stuff with me anymore. Pulled out the cases/safes and when we go on a trip, I make sure we can carry what we value. There's only one case left behind the rear seat. ;-)

didn't see this question, can you get your 1911 in there? I looked at these in the Quadratec tent during Bantam and I don't think my SR40 would fit

  29. Not likely! But I do enjoy your videos. Now, if I only had a Jeep it would make my fascination with watching them seem less weird.

  30. Totally ordering this right now. Might even add the passenger for extra storage of random bits and parts. I'll need to find a way to get rid of that random key, I want to find a way to link the boxes to my ignition key or something. Great video!

  31. Don't skip the zip tie step unless you like hearing your airbag alarm dinging at you.
Another tip, get some non-slip tool box drawer liner, cut it to line the entire inside of your drawer and attach it with spray adhesive. This will keep your goodies from sliding back and forth inside the drawer as you drive.

  33. Smokey the Jeep i have my ham radio mounted under my passenger seat. Besides jumping out of the driver side and running around to the passenger side to lock my gun up would bring attention to what I'm doing.

  34. I can't wait to see the same install in CJ's TJ with maybe the addition of the overhead console!

  35. Thanks for showing us how to do what you do. You should do the raptor liner to the tub.
