Installing JKS Adjustable Track Bar - Project 2004 Jeep TJ Wrangler - Howto Center Front Axle
In this video, I show you my installation of the JKS Adjustable Track Bar. I also show you my method for making sure your front axle is centered under the Jeep as you adjust your track bar.
Old Man Emu (OME) Steering Stabilizer Install - Project 2004 Jeep TJ Wrangler Howto
In this video, I install an OME steering stabilizer. Instructions for this thing are non-existent. Hopefully this is helpful. I ditched the lock washers and feel that thread locker will suffice to hold things in place. Torque values were hard to come by but I settled on 50 ft/lbs for the frame and the tie rod bolts, and 35 ft/lbs for the top bolt on the stabilizer bushing.

Front Sway Bar Link Removal - Project 2004 Jeep TJ Wrangler Tip - How-To
In this video, I show you how I choose to remove the top nut/bolt from the TJ front swaybar links. I see a lot of methods for this, but in my opinion, this is the easiest way. It also has the benefit of not destroying the bushings or stud... just in case you are not planning to replace them (but you probably are... since why else would you be taking them off! lol)
If you want to buy one of these ball joint removal tools, you can find a bunch of options here on Amazon:

Upper Front Shock Bolt Removal Tip Project 2004 Jeep TJ Wrangler How To
There are lots of ways to successfully remove the upper shock mounting nut and bolt on the front end of a Jeep Wrangler TJ. This just happens to be the way I used, and I found it to be relatively easy to do, and doesn't require any special tools or skills. I know some folks prefer to cut the bolt, torch it, etc... but this method just seemed simpler. The longest part is just breaking that bushing off... but it's not hard...it just takes a minute or two of work with an old screwdriver and a hammer.
Do you have an easier method? Tell us in the comments.

Genesis Offroad Dual Battery Kit and Odyssey Extreme Installation - 2015 Jeep JK Wrangler
Today is DUAL BATTERY DAY!
That's right... today is the day I go big and drop in two Odyssey Extremes and a Genesis Offroad JK Dual Battery Kit! It's time. I was avoiding this for a while, but came to realize that it needed to happen.
ODYSSEY Extreme Series Battery
http://www.odysseybattery.com/extreme_batteries.aspx
Twice the overall power and three times the service life of conventional batteries
Some batteries offer enormous cranking power. Others, deep cycle reserve power. Unbeatable ODYSSEY® Extreme Series™ batteries do both. Even at very low temperatures, ODYSSEY Extreme Series batteries have the power to provide engine-cranking pulses in excess of 2250 amps for 5 seconds – double to triple that of equally sized conventional batteries. And they can handle 400 charge-discharge cycles to 80% depth of discharge.
How so much power is possible?
ODYSSEY Extreme Series batteries are made with flat plates made of 99.99% pure lead – not lead alloy. Pure lead plates can be made thinner, so we can fit more of them in the battery. More ODYSSEY battery plates mean more plate surface area. And that means more power – twice as much as conventional batteries.
Packed with more power
Like many popular spiral-wound batteries, ODYSSEY Extreme Series batteries employ dry cell Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology to contain acid, allowing the battery to be installed even on its side. But the densely packed flat plates in an ODYSSEY Extreme Series battery avoid the “dead space” between cylinders in a “six pack” design. The result is 15% more plate surface area — and that translates to more power!

Genesis Off Road JK DUAL BATTERY KIT
https://www.genesisoffroad.com/JKDualBatteryKit-p/131-jkdbk.htm
Completely pre-wired out of the box
Fits 3.8L, 3.6L, Hemi 5.7L & 6.4L, LS, and European diesel engines
Boost switch included - jump start your vehicle off your second battery
Power & Ground bus bars make it easy to connect accessories
Smart Isolator automatically handles all charging functions
NEW FEATURE! Interface port pre-wired for the G Screen monitoring system
Integrated fuse box holder and evap solenoid holder
Best quality wires, tin-plated copper connectors, and sealed heat shrink tubing
Powder coated for durability
Proudly made in the USA
The top cover plate has several innovative features in a simple package. All of the wiring has already been done for you, and the smart isolator comes pre-installed. The welded gussets on top have holes with grommets to route the wires directly to the correct battery post, so there's no guess work involved to make the connections. Use the extra grommets for routing your own accessory wires cleanly and neatly to the power and ground bus bars. High quality battery terminal connectors are crimped to the flexible 2 gauge wire connecting the batteries together. With all the wiring integrated into the top plate, servicing your batteries has never been easier. Simply pull the terminals off the battery posts, remove the 4 easily accessible bolts securing the lid, and all the wiring can be lifted up and out of the way to service your batteries when necessary.
The included smart isolator gives you automatic control of all the charging functions with no interaction required.
Here's how it works.
When both your batteries are fully charged at 13.2 volts, they are automatically connected and are charged at the same time.
When you park and turn off the engine, but continue to use accessories such as lights or the stereo or a CB, both batteries begin to drain down.
When your main cranking battery reaches 12.7 volts, the smart isolator separates the batteries, so that your cranking battery will have enough power to start the engine. The second battery continues to power your accessories for as long as it will last.
After you crank the vehicle, your main cranking battery will be charged up to 13.2 volts first, and then the isolator will begin charging your accessory battery. By only charging one battery at a time, your alternator is protected from excessive strain.
What if your cranking battery is somehow drained down too low to be able to start the vehicle? We have a solution for that.
Press the Start Boost button and the isolator will connect both batteries together for 1 minute, acting like built-in jumper cables to jump start your engine off your accessory battery.
As long as the accessory battery has enough power, you'll be able to start your vehicle instead of being stranded with a dead battery!
The alternator will charge both batteries for 1 minute, then switches back over to automatic mode to reduce the strain on your alternator.

Dynatrac ProGrip Big Brake Install and Tire Rebalancing - 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited
So yeah....I finally got those big brakes put on OVERCLOCK3D! I've been procrastinating, because I knew it was going to be a tight fit. I ended up taking my Jeep down to World Tour Offroad in Annapolis, MD, and changed the brakes there in front of the shop. Then I could test the fitment and work with Paul to relocate the wheel weights and get all of the tires rebalanced. It was a pain in the butt.... but all good now! The ProGrips really do improve braking... especially in my heavy JK!
The Dynatrac ProGrip™ Brake System comes with larger rotors for the front and rear, providing improved braking by moving the factory calipers farther from the axle centerline. The increased rear braking power provides balanced braking, reducing nose dive and dramatically improving the control of the vehicle in mild and hard braking conditions compared to upgrades that only address the front brakes. Significant research was done to select the optimum front and rear brake-pad linings to balance the system and provide additional stopping power.
Fully instrumented testing showed lower brake pedal pressure and a reduction in stopping distances of up to 30 percent compared to stock brakes on a Jeep JK outfitted with a 4-inch lift and 37-inch-tall tires. Measured G-force during moderate braking (1,000-psi brake fluid pressure) increased from 0.48 Gs with stock brakes to 0.63 Gs with the Dynatrac ProGrip system.
Another key advantage is that installation of the system does not require opening the brake hydraulics, thus avoiding the chore of bleeding the brakes after installation. Additionally, brake pedal feel and travel is improved after upgrading to the Dynatrac ProGrip Brake System.
The system is a direct bolt-on for 2007-2017 Jeep Wranglers and it includes:
13.50-inch front rotors with unique pillar-vented cooling design
14.25-inch rear rotors with integral parking brake surface
Stronger caliper brackets designed using CAD/FEA and advanced engineering tools
Unique front and rear brake pads for optimum friction performance
The Dynatrac ProGrip Brake System fits Jeep Wranglers with 17-inch wheels (wheel spacers are required with 17-inch factory wheels), and the system will fit in nearly all aftermarket wheels without spacers.

OVERCLOCK3D Gets A New Battery! My Choice May Shock You...
Yep... I got a new battery today. I didn't want to, but I didn't get a chance to choose the timing. I hit you all up on Facebook and YouTube to tell me what you thought was the best deal on a battery. I got a LOT of responses, so thank you! It's clear that people are loyal to their brands! After much research, and taking into consideration all of the comments and feedback, as well as my budget, I settled on the right battery for me - right now at least.
DieHard Gold AGM Automotive Battery
Technology Is on Your Side With the DieHard 48 Battery
The DieHard 48 Gold AGM Battery truly outshines its competitors, thanks to its cutting edge AGM technology, lightning fast recharge, and its ability to retain the maximum amount of electrolytes, produce more power and endure harsh conditions.

11 - Setting off the Omega Excalibur Alarm and Anti Carjacking Mode Explained - 2015 Jeep Wrangler
I know some of you have been waiting for this video! In this one... I make some noise! I set off the Excalibur alarm in my Jeep using a couple of methods:
1. Shock Pre Warn
2. Motion Pre Warn
3. Shock full Trigger
4. Motion Full Trigger
5. Hood opening
Next, I explain the two panic modes (locked and unlocked) and why you might want to use one over the other.
I also take a little time at the end to discuss how the anti-carjacking feature works for those who may be interested in that.
Enjoy!

10 - Alarm and Remote Start - Proximity Sensor Install - Howto - OMEGA Excalibur AU-94TM Prox
In this video I finally get to installing the Omega proximity sensor for my Excalibur AL-1775-3DB Alarm and Remote Start system. I placed this in the lid of the center console for a couple of reasons:
1. It's an easy location to install, and easy to run wires to
2. It's practically dead center in the passenger area of the Jeep!
This required lengthening the wires for the prox (motion) sensor...but I show you how I used wires I already had. I borrowed some length of wiring from shock sensor that wasn't needed.
The AU-94TM is designed to provide both internal and external zones of protection for the vehicle. When the exterior zone is penetrated by someone, a pre-warn signal is generated and sent to the security system's pre-warn input. When the interior zone is violated, the system immediately triggers.
Features:
• Dual zone sensing protects both an inside and outside of the vehicle
• Each zone is independently adjustable
• LED sensitivity test light
• Pre-wired 4-pin plug allows easy connection to all Omega systems

IT'S EASY!!! How To Program Transponder Keys for Late Model Jeep Wrangler
In this video I show you how easy (and HARD) it is to add a new key for your late model Jeep. This process is likely similar for a variety of videos... so check out the link I share in the video for detailed instructions for whatever vehicle you have. These are the keys I am adding: http://amzn.to/2yroqbV. You can also get versions of these keys with the transceiver (buttons) and the programming steps are the same.
I added these keys because since I installed the Omega Excalibur alarm system, I no longer need the large factory Jeep key. This allows me to save some bulk and weight in my pocket.

A couple of us from the office got together out at Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania for some easy going wheeling. We had a new Jeeper with us who was wanting to take his stock new-to-him TJ out before he started installing his lift kit.
I hope you enjoy the video.
Oh... here is the link to the Seicane stereo...since I always get so many questions about that. Seicane Model S18JP25 — http://bit.ly/S18JP25

In this video, I plug everything into the brain (except for the final two optional sensors I'll add later) and tuck it away in it's new home. I show you how to program the blade to recognize and operate with your specific vehicle, and I show you how to use Vehicle Learn to handle a bunch of programming steps... automatically!
Here's the playlist containing all of the videos for this install:

Here's the OMEGA Excalibur Video on Vehicle Learn:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi1rEJjuGF0
Vehicle Learn is a patent pending technology introduced with the new Excalibur 70 series remote start line. It's one of several time saving installation technologies developed for the 70 series. In less time than programming one feature manually, you can accomplish the following:
- Set engine type
- Automatically recognize the ignition switch sequence and configure all primary outputs to match
- Confirm how many circuits were detected and that connections are good
- Automatically detect and select proper data port protocols
- Automatically detect and select the best available engine detection method
- Enable manual transmission reservation mode
- and a few more tricks up our sleeves...
PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT INFO!
So you want to install an alarm system and remote start into your Jeep Wrangler? Well… this is the page for you! What follows below is the complete video series regarding the selection, overview, installation, setup, and howtos of the Omega Excalibur AL-1775-3DB security system and remote start I installed in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler with automatic transmission. If you happen to have the same vehicle (including similar years) then this page should be a step-by-step guide for you. If you have a manual transmission, there will be some additional steps and wiring for you, and what exactly depends on what year your Jeep is. I tried to mention some of those things throughout the video series. If you have a 2017 or newer, also note that the access to the ignition switch harness is a little different. I’ll also try and help you out there.
Please watch all of the videos BEFORE YOU START your own installation. This is important because I may point out things in later videos that would be helpful to know about early on. It’s just part of the process. Once I get into the install, I know more about what exactly needs to be done, versus what I believe needs to be done. A great example of this is the wiring for the parking lights. In the wiring prep video, I told you that you needed three wires for this because that was the industry standard based on how the Jeeps were wired. However, in actual testing during the install (and working closely with the tech guys at Omega Research and Development) I found that only one wire was really needed. So I modified the harness from the original 9 wires, down to 7!! BONUS!!!

In this video we complete all of the wiring for the basic system. I still have a proximity sensor and hood tilt sensor to wire in, but I'll do that later. The final wiring demonstrated in this video is the two power connections to the OBD-II port, the ground connection, the parking lights tap, and wiring in the horn, hood pin switch, and the siren. The only thing left to do after this is basically plug in the brain of the Omega Excalibur 1775 and run through a couple of easy self-programming steps for the system and the remote start capability. We're so close to being done!!! Next video gets you operational, I promise!!!!

In this video we go inside the Jeep, and I give you a quick tour of what I am going to be tapping into under the dash. I also give you some wiring updates and show you how I join and extend wires, and also how I am splicing into the wires that are in existing wire harnesses in the Jeep. I am using a military splice or military tap. It's a very strong solderless connection that works well for these sorts of installs.

Now we're getting into the good stuff! Let's pop the hood and start bolting things on! In this video I continue the Omega Excalibur AL-1775-3DB Alarm and Remote Start installation in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler (Automatic Transmission). Now we get to go to the vehicle and start the actual installation process.
Set aside several hours for this install if it's your first time, and make sure you watch ALL of the videos first before starting. There are some times I do something one way, and then change it up as I get further along and realize I need to go a different direction. It's just the nature of the beast! But this is a real install... not a marketing video, so you get to see those things and how I handle them!
This was much easier than I expected!

I Parked my Jeep on a DEWALT Cooler!
DEWALT's new line of coolers are guaranteed tough. But, can they handle the weight of my bloated pig of a Jeep Wrangler - OVERCLOCK3D? I had to try. This is the small lunch sized cooler. Came out pretty much unscathed. Thankfully. I like this cooler.
DEWALT did not ask me to do this, nor do they know that I did it. (They may know now, however, lol!) They did send me this cooler at no cost to me, but they had no idea what I might do with it. Good thing for all of us that it really is as tough as I hoped it would be. I'm pretty sure DEWALT won't be sending me any more presents, though... lol. Sorry! I had to try this!

Fumoto F106SX Drain Valve Oil Change and Blackstone Labs Oil Testing Sample Collection Jeep Wrangler
In this video I perform my first oil change after having installed the Fumoto F106SX Drain Valve. Man, this was easy! If you want to see the installation video for the Fumoto, you can go here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyc1ICrXfQ8
If you'd like to buy such a thing...
http://amzn.to/2vQU54b
I also capture a sample of my oil to send to Blackstone Labs. More info on that here: https://www.blackstone-labs.com/
Oil analysis is a quick, nondestructive way to gauge the health of an engine by looking at what's in the oil. People use oil analysis for different reasons: to see if there are any problems developing, to see if their oil is working well in the engine, and to see if they can run longer oil changes. Get started with your analysis by ordering a free test kit.

Removing Shift Knob WITHOUT DAMAGE!!! Transfer Case - Jeep Wrangler JK
This is another short tip video to demonstrate how to remove the transfer case shifter knob from your JK Wrangler without damaging the knob or your face.
It's fascinating to me how many howto videos there are out there that don't actually show the removal, but rather show you AFTER they removed it. They tell you how they did it. They should be called how-did vidoes! lol Here's a video of me removing this knob like three times... THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT TO EXPECT.
This is very simple, but a bit scary for those who don't know what to expect. My hope is that showing the actual removal in a video will help those who want to do this but are hesitant after reading how hard it is, or how easy it is to smack yourself in the face! : - )
Why would you want to remove your shift knob? Typically it's for one of two reasons:
1. You may want to replace the knob with an aftermarket one to give your Jeep a cool new look.
2. You may need to remove the knob to fully disassemble the center console.

Hutchinson Rock Monster Beadlock Wheel & Tire Assembly - Complete - Unedited - Pros and Cons Review
This is a video, unedited and uncut, from start to finish, of me putting together a Hutchinson Rock Monster Bead Lock Wheel assembly. This is just to help you understand what is involved, how long it takes, and what is needed to do it. Sometimes videos have these magical installs that are much more difficult to achieve in the real world... even though they seem so easy in the video. Hopefully this video demonstrates just how easy this process really is! Less than 10 minutes per tire is pretty good, in my opinion.
Additionally, I tell you in the narrative a little about Hutchinson Industries, whether these rims are DOT approved, certified, or compliant, and why, and what the DOT-T label on the side of the wheel means. I did a bit of research on this, and it's crazy what people will make up that isn't true. Hint: It doesn't stand for Trailer or Truck. lol
More detailed installation video will follow, but I think this is a good look at the overall process in case you are interested in looking at these Hutchinson Rock Monsters.

Lug Nuts - Spline Drive McGard and Gorilla and What and Why Jeep Wrangler
Let's talk lug nuts! I'll show you what I bought and why... and show you the difference between the McGard and Gorilla splinedrive lug nuts. I also talk about what you need to know to buy aftermarket lug nuts for a Jeep Wrangler.
I found this when searching the McGard... and found it interesting. That piece at the cone is actually a brass washer and it's designed to allow you to tighten things without damaging the rim.
"No one mentioned that they have a built -on tapered washer that actually spins freely until it contacts the rim. At that point it will stop spinning and you torque the lug against the washer INSTEAD of it torqueing and grinding into your rims(after removing to rotate the wheels with regular lugs enough times it will start to grind into the lug well in most cases) . They are made of Stainless steel(no rust and guaranteed for life by McGard) and the Naval Brass washer, these things are plenty strong." https://forum.miata.net/vb/archive/index.php/t-312032.html

The specifications aren't critical. I just liked the 3/4" size. Anthing will work. Get Neodymium tho.

Seicane Files (Manual and Navigation Maps)
1. This is a manual that I found that is from a different reseller, but the same unit. This is for the Android 7.1 version, but the options are pretty much the same with different versions of Android. Click here for the manual.
2. When I contacted Seicane about the navigation maps, they gave me this. This appears to be an entire iGO installation and APK file (probably cracked). It contains the maps for North America that should have been pre-installed in the head unit before it shipped. If you need maps, you might try this. I personally don't use iGO, as I prefer the lighter weight of Google Maps or even Waze... but this should save you an email (or ten) to Seicane support. Click here for the zip file. (This is the link Seicane sent me. Use at your own risk. I have not tested or installed this content. The file is HUUUUGE (3GB). I don't feel like it's running hot... but curious about others who say that theirs is.

The EASY Way to Remove Broken Upper Rear Shock Bolts from a Wrangler TJ Project 2004 Jeep TJ
I quickly realized that dealing with broken upper rear shock bolts was something that most TJ owners are going to have to deal with. I was glad I was not alone. Internet searches revealed tons of people asking the same question as I: "How to remove broken shock bolts on a TJ"! Sometimes you can't put enough PB Blaster on these things to get them to break free without snapping!
I read all of the tips and advice, watched a bunch of videos... and tried a lot of things. This video, however, demonstrates what I found to be the absolute EASIEST way to get those pesky bolts out with a minimal expense. You don't need a huge air compressor and an air chisel. You don't need a special little palm hammer. With a Dremel and a single punch and hammer, you can knock this out! (Pun intended.)
Most people probably have a Dremel, but you may or may not have the 90 degree adapter. Here's a list of the products I used to make this simple job happen:
Dremel 3000: http://amzn.to/2xFYi09
Dremel 575 Right Angle Attachment: http://amzn.to/2juXDrU
Dremel EZ456 1-1/2-Inch EZ Lock Wheels: http://amzn.to/2x2YbLb
Stanley FMHT75077 FatMax Punch Set: http://amzn.to/2x8SMld
2-Pound Engineer Hammer: HF or http://amzn.to/2x8rkUu
Here's my video on removing the TJ gas tank...again, an easy task with the right approach!

Here's the Bostitch Palm Nailer that I tried and found no value in for this project:
BOSTITCH PN50 Mini Impact Nailer: http://amzn.to/2whnYjj
And finally, here's the air hammer and chisel bit set I tried. Again... I found it not necessary for this project: Ingersoll Rand Air Hammer 114GQC: http://amzn.to/2y4xWkj

Install 04 - Putting it in - Seicane 10.1" Android 7.1.2 Stereo Head Unit in 2015 Jeep Wrangler
In this video, I am actually installing the new stereo/dash assembly into the Jeep. This seems to be a tricky process. I tried something different, but not sure if it helped or not... but the install did seem to go smoothly.
I mentioned placing the wiring on the top but when I was installing, that was getting int the way because of that little bar that goes across the top of that area. I just had to move it a bit to fit. Be very mindful of all of the wiring back there that may be rubbing on that metal bar when you drive around. It wouldn't be a bad idea to put a protective wire loom over the wires to be safe. I will probably do that myself.

CPO Tip: How to Remove Jeep Wrangler Air Conditioning Vents - 2015 JK Wrangler
It seems like this is a common question for people looking to modify their Jeeps... whether to change stereo head units like I am doing, or just to paint the trim around the vents. There are several videos demonstrating this process, but I hopefully have provided a different look at this process.
