Metal Masher Trail in Moab Utah with KL Young from Twisted Jeeps - 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
What a great day! Metal Masher is a Jeep Badge of Honor Trail, so make sure you check in if you are collecting badges. KL was a great guide... so thanks to you for recommending him, and thanks to Twisted Jeeps for allowing him to spend a couple of days hanging out with me!
Overall, I'd rate Metal Masher as a moderate trail, with some optional advanced obstacles. We didn't hit several of the big obstacles because there was just more risk for vehicle damage or breakage. I asked KL to keep things on moderate range of the "Easy - to - Extreme" scale. And that... he did. That's also why wheeling someone familiar with the trail is nice... they know where all the bad things happen. :-)

How To Fix Can't Load Android System Recovery Screen Seicane or Other Car Stereo Head Unit
So... yeah. This is a video I didn't think I was going to make. I honestly didn't think my first attempt to fix this was going to work. But, it did. So now I am catching you up.
Here's the screen that came up:
Can't Load Android System. Your data may be corrupt. If you continue to get this message, you may need to perform a factory data reset and erase all user data stored on this device.
Seems easy enough to hit that "try again" option...but there are no physical buttons on this device. Only soft buttons and a single reset button. Here's how I solved it.

ORO Tru-Turn Steering Stabilizer Relocation Kit Install - Jeep Wrangler JK - OffRoadOnly
Finally found my solution to relocate the steering stabilizer on OVERCLOCK3D. I've been running without one for several months... and even did the Colorado/Moab trip without one. A steering stabilizer isn't need to have a vehicle drive right...but it does help prolong the life of your steering components by dampening some of the high frequency vibrations and also protecting your gearbox from big jarring hits.

Tru-Turn Steering Stabilizer relocation kit for Wrangler JKs moves the steering stabilizer from below the tie rod, and up to run along the draglink and attach to the frame at the driverside.
The welded bracket with the ears mounts between the factory swaybar mount and the frame with the moving end clamped to the draglink with our steering stabilizer bracket kit as shown below. This kit includes all the parts to mount a standard 8″ eye to eye steering stabilizer in this location, but does not include the stabilizer.
There is a spacer plate included to space the passenger side of the swaybar mount down an equal amount as the driverside for when a swaybar like our SwayLOC is used.
Even though I didn't use the drag link bracket from the kit... it was totally worth the purchase for that frame relocation bracket. Most people, however, will use the drag link bracket as well.

They also had a JK that apparently has had a diesel in it for a couple of years, and a full size Dodge pickup. I left the footage raw so you can hear them... we didn't follow them around to get video all day, but when we ended up bumping into them on the trail, I tried to grab video to share! :-)

Black Bear Pass - Walkthrough - Jeep Badge of Honor Trail - Telluride and Ouray Colorado
Black Bear Pass. Here's a great writeup from Dangerous Roads:
Black Bear Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.910 m (12,840ft) above the sea level, located in Colorado, USA. The road to the summit is called Black Bear Road, a dangerous dirt track. This jeep trail, officially called Forest Service Road 648, starts at an elevation of 11,018-foot (3,358 m) above the sea level, and ends in Telluride, Colorado. It's one of the highest mountain roads of Colorado.
Beyond the Black Bear Pass, the road is a collection of infamous switchbacks going to Telluride. This road, which passes Bridal Veil Falls, the highest waterfall in Colorado, is open just some months, from late summer (usually the last week of July) to early fall, and it can be closed anytime when the access is not cleared of snow. Do not travel this pass in severe weather conditions. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice. It has a well-deserved reputation for being dangerous because of unpredictable snowstorms and blizzards, and driving under these conditions, can be extremely challenging.

Rock Hard 4X4 Fuel Tank Skid Installation - RH4X4 -RH-6001 - 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited JKU
I finally got the Rock Hard 4X4 fuel tank skid installed. Did I absolutely HAVE to remove the tank... nahh... probably not. But I am glad I did, so I could clean and straighten it up some. A lesson I learned here is sometimes you need a bigger hammer! lol
I hope this is helpful for those wanting to know how to remove the skid or drop the tank in your driveway, and in particular, how to remove the skid and tank hanger without dropping the tank. I didn't mention this in the video, but I did have less than a 1/4 tank of gas when I did this. The less gas the better!

Thermostat Housing Replace and Bleeding Air from Cooling System - 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK 3.6L
It's time to take care of that leak! I wanted to do this before the Moab trip, and I'm running out of time. So, today was the day! In this video, I change out my thermostat and housing assembly. I didn't drain the radiator for this, and then I show how I bled the air out of the cooling system with help of a spillproof funnel.

with a high-quality antifreeze coolant to provide

23rd Annual PA Jeeps All Breeds Jeep Show - 2018
The PA Jeeps All Breeds Jeep Show is the only one I have never missed since buying my Jeep in 2015. This was my fourth time to attend, and I usually only make it on the first day (Saturday).
Here's the entire day, as much as I could capture! It was raining off and on, but we got a few moments of clear skies here and there. I was the second to the last person on the CTI trailer, because they closed it and the Obstacle Course down early due to weather.
I hope you enjoy this video. I tried to capture as many Jeeps as I could... some came after I shot the footage, of course, but I tried to grab as many as I could.

How To Ream the Taper for Tie Rod End on Knuckles using a Reamer Bit- Jeep Wrangler Jk - Reid Racing
In this video, I show you how I reamed the tie rod tapered holes on my Reid Racing knuckles to better fit my tie rod ends from TMR Customs. This is my first time to perform this particular task. The JK tie rod end taper is the same "1-in-8" taper (which is also labeled as 1 1/2" taper per Foot) that most other American vehicles use but it has a unique dimension of 0.640" at the small end.
The "1-ton" tie rod end is the industry standard for aftermarket steering systems. They're cheap, plentiful, strong, and available with both left-hand-thread and right-hand-thread for easy on-vehicle adjustment. There are also special offset versions available for vehicles where clearance is a problem, such as a diff cover guard or extra-thick diff cover. The "1-ton" tie rod end uses the same "1-in-8" taper as the JKs, but their small-end dimension is 0.650".
Reid Racing currently drills their holes to a slightly smaller than stock JK taper (mine were around 0.630 but I don't know the "official number").

Going off road means things are going to get bent, loosened up, and need repair. It would get expensive fast if you had to take your truck in for alignment every time you worked on the front end.
While camber and caster can be adjusted on most vehicles, there is not much adjustment for camber on solid axle trucks. While caster can be adjusted either with control arms on 4- and 3-link trucks or with leaf spring shims on leaf spring trucks, toe is sometimes hard to adjust without help or a special tool.
For all of these reasons, there is the DIY Alignment Toe Set Tool. To use, just follow these simple steps:
Put your vehicle on jack stands
Remove the wheel
Bolt the tool to your hub
Align the tool side to side at the same level
Apply brakes
Use tape measure to check toe in and toe out as well as total toe
To find camber, rotate the tool up and attach a magnetic angle finder
Works great and saves you money!
Most vehicles are approximately 1/8-1/4" total toe in. We like to run about 1/8" toe in to avoid tire wear since incorrect toe is the major cause of tire wear on any vehicle.
This kit includes (2) toe alignment plates - laser cut and zinc plated for corrosion resistance.

This high security 16 gauge steel security drawer mounts under the drivers side seat in a Jeep JK. The formfitting design of the Tuffy lockbox has over 324 cubic inches of lockable storage. It’s secured contents are easily accessed by maneuvering the drawer open and closed on the smooth ball bearing slides using the convenient pull lever.
Featuring Tuffy’s Pry-Guard Locking System with a 10 tumbler double bitted security lock with built in weather seals. The design incorporates a heavy duty fully extending slide system, weather seal & welded construction. A formed rib in the enclosure additionally strengthens the locking system.
Mounts inconspicuously under the drivers side seat in a Jeep JK out of apparent sight of would-be thieves. Uses the factory hardware without drilling. Optional security hardware is included which would require drilling one hole. The drawer must remain locked while operating the vehicle.

The King of the Hammers was founded by Jeff Knoll and Dave Cole in 2007, planned in a bar on a napkin. The founders decided that there should be a trial run with a few good guys and a chance to have some fun. This one is a Condition Zero holster and seat bracket that I picked up from Team Tech Offroad. They make them for 4-door and 2-door JKs, but they are different.

This all inclusive secure cover system is made for the Jeep Wrangler JKU/JLU from 2007 to present day. It is made of thin gauge steel and is fully powder coated. It has a vertical 3 piece wall that sits behind the seats and supports two horizontal C- channels. These C-channels hold a removable lift panel that is held in place with 4 quick release pins. Equipment is accessible by access through the tailgate, and now, through a locked access panel behind the drivers side passenger seat. There are side wing panels that fit tightly around the roll bar and follow the contour of the body for a perfect fit.
This system was designed to be used with or without a top in place. Run it with the top on or off. Access is still only through the tailgate, and now through a lockable panel on the forward wall. Secure all your summer gear without having to worry about them being stolen. The removable panel can be tilted up, removed and locked in a vertical position if you need to carry tall items. Secure anything you need like never before. Additional slotted fence plates mount on top to incorporate stacking of equipment on top up to 200 pounds safely. The mounting brackets and C- channels allow for strong, secure mounting of the lift panel. The structure on the underside of the lift top is staggered to fit current industry molle panels for additional secure storage. Our cables are built from cast copper terminals using 2 gauge or optional extra heavy duty (XHD) 1/0 (“one-aught”) SAE SGT battery cable for the starter and engine block ground and #6 (or #4 gauge with XHD option) wire for the fuse block or body ground wires. This is larger than the stock wire to lower resistance and improve cranking. A high temp SGX wire is also optional. We seal the connection with heavy wall adhesive lined heat shrink. In the picture at left, compare the thickness of the wires. Note the stock cable doesn’t have any heat shrink sealing the connection. Anti-corrosion bolts and battery washers are also included.
All the positive cables come with a starter lug cover. Covers for the battery terminal ends are available for an extra $5 each.
Fuse block cables are larger wire with heavy duty ends for lower resistance (#4 wire shown).
The stock 2-hole fuse block connector has the battery cable and the alternator wire ganged together. We replace that by separating the wires and putting a heavy duty 90 degree end on each one. Together, the 2 cables work to replace the goofy Jeep 2 hole connector.
The result -A perfect fit!
The Wrangler cable set includes a positive battery cable with starter lug cover, negative battery cable, an alternator cable with fuse link, anti-corrosion battery washers and anti-corrosion battery and terminal ends.

Troubleshooting Jeep TJ Wrangler! Won't Start but Problem Found - Project 2004
I had to do a little troubleshooting to figure out why the Jeep wouldn't start, so I decided to take you through process in case this ever happens to you. Symptom: Starter doesn't even try and come on when turning the key. No click. Nothing. You can hear the starter relay trigger. Battery seems good. But it just won't crank.
